Part 39

Ever since Dana hit Haruto, she stopped going to school. Not only did she have to deal with Haruto's lawsuits, her family's business also got into trouble.

This was all thanks to the Japanese boys. They were all quite pissed that Dana hit Haruto. Even if Haruto did plan to get himself physically hurt by Dana, seeing their friend get hurt just didn't sit well with them.

So they all called their parents and told them to blacklist Avanta corporation. Just so happens that Yoshi and Mashiho's company was investing in Avanta as a part of their plan to increase their presence on the Korean market. Thankfully the investment was yet to be settled and they were able to smoothly pull out.

Consequently, when their companies pulled out and blacklisted Avanta, the rest of the investors got concerned and also pulled out of their investment.

When Haruto heard that Avanta corporation was in deep trouble, he had a feeling his friends had something to do with it.

"Did you guys have anything to do with what happened to Avanta?" Haruto asked his friends over dinner.

However no one responded to him and Mashiho changed the topic instantly. They were all quite embarrassed to admit that they were protective of him.

This reaction pretty much confirmed Haruto's suspicion. "Thank you," Haruto said before dropping the subject. He knows his friends will never admit to it, but he knows they care for him.

Because Dana'a company suddenly got into trouble after she hit Haruto, the rest of the student body pretty much assumed Haruto was directly related to the Avanta crisis. Seeing as Haruto can even knock Avanta corporation down a notch, the rest of the female population finally got scared. They dare not approach Haruto anymore.

Haruto was finally able to experience a peaceful campus life.

"Hey Hyunsuk," Haruto nodded at Hyunsuk who sat next to Yuta. Hyunsuk greeted him back. Since Mashiho, Yoshi, Junghwan, Yuta and Hyunsuk were all from the same business course, the majority of their classes are the same. Being the only Korean that they know in their course, the Japanese boys often sat with Hyunsuk. Soon, the five of them became good friends. Hyunsuk would hang out with them when they could, which also made him friends with Haruto and Asahi who were in a different course.

Hyunsuk was closest to Yuta out of the Japanese boys. Mainly because Yuta kept bugging him as he's the only Korean who could speak Japanese and English.

Haruto glanced at Jihoon who looked like he swallowed a fly. He can tell that he was bothered by how close Yuta and Hyunsuk were. He wanted to tell him that he had nothing to worry about because Yuta is 100% straight. There was a higher chance of Yuta turning asexual before he even bats for the other team. But Haruto wasn't close enough to either of them to be nosing around their business.

"Why don't you join us for lunch today?" Yuta asked Hyunsuk. Every week, the Japanese and Korean boys would all have lunch together after economics. Yuta has been trying to make Hyunsuk join them but Hyunsuk kept making excuses because he knows Jihoon will be there. He didn't want to make things awkward.

"I'm going to pass today, I want to go home early," Hyunsuk refused.

"Come on man! I want to discuss with you guys my plan for my birthday. You can't dodge this one," Yuta said in a whiny tone.

Hyunsuk briefly glanced at Jihoon and their eyes met. They immediately looked away.

"Fine," Hunsuk gave in. He couldn't say no because he felt bad.

Hearing that Hyunsuk was going to join them, Jihoon already started making excuses in his head to dodge lunch. But he knows if he does, Yuta will raise hell. So he decided against it. It was only one lunch after all. It should be fine right?

Yuta, the narcissist that he is, thinks that one day is not enough to celebrate his birth. Ever since he came to this conclusion when he was 16, he made a habit of making everyone celebrate his birthWEEK rather than just birthDAY.

So during lunch, Yuta divided all twelve boys into groups of two and assigned each group a day during his birthweek. To make things easier for him, he told everyone to partner up with the same people from their first korean-japanese buddy system. He asked them to be creative and make each day assigned to them special for him.

Which means the pairs were as follow:

Haruto x Junkyu - Monday

Asahi x Jaehyuk - Tuesday

Junghwan x Jeongwoo - Wednesday

Yoshi x Yedam - Thursday

Hyunsuk x Jihoon - Friday

Mashiho x Doyoung - Saturday

Jihoon was feeling uneasy and restless because he had to be partnered with Hyunsuk. Noticing Jihoon's reaction, Haruto decided to interfere. "Actually, I think I will be more effective paired up with Hyunsuk."

Junkyu, who wanted to save his bestfriend also agreed, despite the fact that he actually wanted to be partners with Haruto. "Yea, I also think it's best if I partner up with Jihoon."

"Who's birthweek is it again?" Yuta asked rhetorically. His facial expression said 'I'm the king, just try and argue with me.'

Haruto gave him a look that told him not to push it.

Yuta rolled his eyes and decided to explain, "You and Hyunsuk know me better than Junkyu and Jihoon. So we can't put both of you and the two of them together."

"Then I'll partner up with Jihoon." Haruto suggested.

"Why don't you want to be partnered with Junkyu? Did you guys fight?" Mashiho asked.

"No."

"Then what's the big deal? Is the honeymoon phase over? Are you guys sick of eachother already?"

"How many times do I have to explain that I only said that he's my boyfriend to shut Dana up?" Junkyu grumbled. Every now and then, their friends would tease them about the incident that happened during economics. They said that it was like a scene from a drama.

Fortunately for Junkyu, he didn't get targeted by the female population. This was predominantly because they finally got scared of Haruto after what happened with Avanta. Furthermore, nobody really paid attention to Junkyu's sudden declaration besides their friends, everybody else was more interested in the fact that Dana hit Haruto.

"It's fine, guys I'll just pair up with Hyunsuk." Jihoon gave a weak defeated smile. He didn't want to make a bigger deal out of this. The less the Japanese boys know, the better.

"Now that's all settled, I want to talk about what I want for my actual birthday." Yuta clapped.

For his actual birthday, which is on Sunday, Yuta wanted to be introduced to the Korean high society. So he asked all twelve of them to organise a cocktail party for him and invite all the high rich young masters and heiress. Hyunsuk was of course the one in charge of inviting as he was really the only one who had the proper connections.

Jihoon, Junkyu, Jaehyuk, Asahi and Haruto always carpooled together every time they had economics. So Haruto would pick everyone up and drop them home. But today Junkyu said he didn't need a drop off because he had somewhere to go.

Haruto offered to drop him off at the place where he needed to go but Junkyu refused.
