Part 70

*THREE YEARS LATER*

Junkyu was in the middle of translating a script when someone knocked on his office door.

"Kyu, you ready to go?" Doyoung asked.

"Yeah, one second, let me just save and shutdown." Junkyu said.

When Junkyu and Doyoung got to the parking lot, Mashiho was standing there waiting for them by his car.

"Hey babe," Mashiho greeted Doyoung. "How was work?"

"It was okay. How was your day?" Doyoung asked, "Did you manage to close the deal?"

"Of course," Mashiho grinned as he opened the door for Doyoung. Even after years of dating, they're still as lovely dovey as ever. He should be used to it, but it's still quite sickening, especially for someone who's practically been single all his life.

"Are we going straight to the venue?"

"Yeah, Jeongwoo suggested we go early to wish Yedam luck before the show." Mashiho answered.

Junkyu nodded and got in his own car. It has been exactly three years since Haruto left. Junkyu has long graduated university and now works for Studio X alongside Doyoung. They do the translations from English to Korean and vice versa for various videos that the studio produces. Yedam on the other hand has become a singer. As Hyunsuk promised when they first met, he got Yedam in their label. He trained and prepared for almost a year and a half before he finally got his debut.

Mashiho now lives in Korea as he took charge of their company's Korean branch. Yoshi also volunteered to take charge of their corporation's Korean branch. He loved the "normal" life in Korea. Furthermore, he's gotten very attached to everyone, so he opted to stay and extend the experience. Yuta and Junghwan on the other hand went back to Japan after graduation.

When they arrived at the venue, they met up with the rest of the boys.

"Alright, I'll call Jeongwoo to let him know that we're all here."

"I still don't understand why Jeongwoo wants to stay as Yedam's manager. He's good enough to be a singer himself." Yoshi commented.

"I actually asked him the same question." Jihoon said. "He said he doesn't really like the idea of people being all up on his business at all times. He likes his privacy."

"Makes sense." Yoshi nodded. "Speaking off..." Yoshi noticed Jeongwoo approaching them.

"Here," Jeongwoo handed everyone backstage passes. "We gotta hurry, there's only 15 minutes left till Yedam has to go on standby."

After Yedam's concert, Junkyu drove straight home. He earns more than enough to get a place for himself but he prefers to live with his parents. Ever since the whole Cho Dohwan debacle, Junkyu realised how much his parents had sacrificed for him. So he wants to stay with them and take care of them for as long as he can.

After Haruto left, Junkyu and his parents stayed in Haruto's house for a while until they were able to sell their old house and buy a new one. They did not want to go back to their old house regardless if Cho Dohwan is in jail.

Junkyu walked to his closet to grab pajamas to change into. As he did so, his eye caught a glance of the brown box neatly tucked at the corner.

It was the box where he hid away all the things related to Haruto. He should have gotten rid of it ages ago. But every time he tried, he just couldn't go through with it.

Junkyu wondered how Haruto was doing now. He should be doing fine right?

Haruto still keeps in contact with the Japanese boys, so if Junkyu really wanted, he could always ask them how Haruto is doing. But they never really tell him anything more than "He's good, he's fine, or he's okay," So eventually, he stopped asking. 

Besides Haruto, Junkyu has kept in touch with the rest of the Japanese boys that have gone back to Japan. In fact, he often talks to Asahi because he's still dating Jaehyuk. Asahi often asks him for advice or favours whenever they argue or when Jaehyuk is feeling off.

The two of them are still going strong. They would talk to eachother everyday and Asahi would come to Korea every chance he gets. Which is not a lot, because he's very busy. Jaehyuk hates the long distance. The longing is killing him. He's thought about giving up multiple times. But he just loves Asahi too much.

Junkyu couldn't help but think what would have happened to him and Haruto if they kept in touch. Junkyu shook his head to get rid of all the what if's that's wandering around his head.

As if on cue, he suddenly got a text from Asahi.

Sahi: Junkyu, I need your help.

Sahi: I'm coming to Korea Thursday next week.

Sahi: I plan to propose to Jaehyuk

Junkyu was stunned when he saw Asahi's text. He immediately called Asahi to interrogate him.

Junkyu: "Propose!? Are you serious!?"

Asahi: "Well hello to you too Junkyu..."

Junkyu: "Oh sorry. Hello Asahi, how are you doing? Fine? Great. I'm fine too. Now that small talk is out of the way, tell me, are you being serious?"

Asahi: "Of course."

Junkyu: "But how will that work? Please don't tell me you're planning on having a long distance marriage."

Asahi: "Of course not. I've officially been relieved of my duty as the royal companion. So when I come there, I'll be staying there for good."

Junkyu: "Oh my! I'm so happy for you guys! Jaehyuk will be ecstatic!"

Asahi: "Thank you."

Junkyu: "When are you planning to propose?"

Asahi: "Friday night next week."

Junkyu: "Woah there. You're coming here Thursday next week! How are we going to organise a proposal in such a short time!?"

Asahi: "Actually I've been planning for this for a long time so everything is almost prepared. I already have a venue in mind and have spoken to a coordinator and suppliers. I just need to confirm the date and timing and all should be good."

Junkyu: "Oh wow.... Oh wait! Does mama and papa Yoon know?"

Asahi: "Already have their blessing."

Junkyu: "That's good! So then what do you need my help for?"

Asahi: "You're in charge of distracting and getting Jaehyuk to the location. According to Mrs Yoon, Jaehyuk should be free on that day. But I need you to make sure that he doesnt make plans and get him there on time."

Junkyu: "Got it!"

Asahi: "Alright I gotta go make some more calls. Thanks for the help Junkyu."

Junkyu: "No problem!"
