Clint's POV

"Pietro Django Maximoff was amazing person as far as being an orphan in a war filled country who took care of his younger sister, could have been. He knew what his limits were as a person, but his knowledge was outlived by his abilities as far as his heroism goes. He sacrificed himself for me and a little boy from his home country who's now being treated in a hospital for his injuries. I only knew him for two days, hated him for one of them and spoken to him a few times-but I knew within the first day that I felt responsible for teaching him life lessons. However, this gave me the eternal reminder that life can be unpredictable in ways we can't imagine and him giving up his young life *sniffle* for me and really for all of you has taught me more than I could have ever taught him. We need to stay more together in this world, whether we know each other-to look out and keep each other safe so we can all have the futures that are best for us." I speak before going back to my seat

I find my place next to Wanda who's spinning a circle of red in a ring around two or her fingers. Her face is almost as red as her magic is while the small group of us try our best to make sure she's feeling cared for.

"Thank you, Clint." she sniffles as she looks up at me

"No problem." I nod

We move on through the ceremony, Wanda unable to give words for her brother as i'm sure memories are too strong for her to speak on the topic. After it's over, it moves onto the burial in which Laura sets one hand on my shoulder and another on Wanda's from behind us as we try to soothe the young girl in her mourning.

I roll my suitcase through the airport, hiding underneath my hat and one of Steve's t-shirts that I brought. The flight wasn't bad, a baby was crying for a little while, but I was able to help the mom get it to sleep after showing her a trick I was taught in Siberia.

Twenty Minutes Later

I wish I had a bicycle or something because walking to this apartment isn't going to be easy. There's a few creepy and nosy neighbors, but i'm just excited to see my Mr. James again. Hopefully he's at the apartment right now because if not then i'm going to scare the crap out of him when he gets there.

I end up using my father's compass to guide me to the building, remembering all that I can while my thoughts buzz with both excitement and fear to see my caretaker again. Once I get to the apartment complex, I take a deep breath and open the big doors before waving at the manager that I used to enjoy talking to here.

"Hi Aaliyah, you're tătic îs upstairs." she points

"Thank you, Aspen." I nod before I pick up my suitcase and jog up the stairwell

When I get to the door, I take another deep breathe before reaching behind the trim on the right side of the door and using my visa gift card to slide the key out. Once it's in my hand, I move back in front of the door and unlock it to push the door open.

I walk into the apartment, suitcase in hand, I put it in the kitchen after shutting the door and turn to my left. I see Mr. James and run to hug him, but when I wrap my arms around him..he's stiff.

"What are you doing here?" he asks in a pained voice

"I came to see you."

"Why?"

I take my arms out from around him, now feeling like i've been locked out of my own life again.

"Because I missed you." I answer
