Kingston High School
Sarah's POV

The door is shut behind me and my body almost tenses, almost. The teacher waves me in as some kids jaws drop open and other just look at me with a dumbfounded look on their face.

"We're right here." I hear Uncle James in my ear piece

I relax and allow courage to fill my nerves as far as it can go, with what I can spare for today. My enhanced hearing and vision pick up on the whispers between students in their desks as I look around.

"Wait, isn't that Captain America's daughter?" a beautiful bronze skin toned girl with long tightly plaited hair whispers behind her hand

"I guess, I mean, the Black Widow was actually in our school and for some reason the Winter Soldier is allowed around people." a guy with blond hair whispers

"Yeah but it wasn't his fault." the girl mentions

"He still did it." a different guy points out

I walk to the teacher and hold out my hand to shake his, he gives me a stunned glance before shaking my hand.

"Nice to meet you, i'm Mr. Tokem."

"Hi, i'm Sarah." I nod

"This is basic chemistry, there is a textbook in the closet that you can grab and write your name in the chart before finding a seat. You should probably sit near the front because you seem to be new to the subject.." he introduces himself

"I finished chemistry quite a while ago, it just wasn't in my first language."

"Oh, you just haven't taken the class in English." he realizes as he adjusts his glasses

"Yes, Sir." I nod respectfully

"Go along now, I have a class to teach." he waves when he lets go of my hand

I wipe mine on the side of my skirt and walk past the whispering students to make my way to the cabinet he was mentioning. Once I get it open, I find a seat in the back and lean into the curved plastic.

Luckily my sight and hearing allow me to focus into the lesson while I sit in the back, I don't even have to talk to anybody because I know all of this stuff.

I try my hardest to stay focused on his syllabus review, but it's not like I never knew any of this before. But I can't, so to at least try and prevent a panic attack, I start listening to other people's conversations around the room.

"And why's she wearing a leather jacket in September? It's not even cold here, she even has a sweater on top." the blond guy from earlier sighs as he peeks over at me

"Two of the guys who dropped her off were wrapped up in jackets too, maybe it's just a thing they do." the bronze girl from earlier shrugs

"What if they're in some kind of Avenger gang?" the blond wanker asks

"That would be kind of cool, who would be the leader you think? Captain America or Iron Man?"

"Iron Man."

"No, Captain America." they argue

"Ms. Yeats, that's enough." Mr. Tokem warns

She shrinks back in her seat before peeking over at me, sending me a shy wave, I raise my right pointer finger in response. We move onto another topic, as I daze in and out of focus of the subject.

The bell rings and I automatically panic, but by the way that everyone is reacting, it means that it's time to leave. So, I grab my text book and the things that I brought for myself and carry them to my math class. By the time I get there, there's already about five kids sitting in the class.
