35. A Romantic Stroll Under The Stars

Third Person's POV

Jungkook is taking a final look at the documents that his subordinates had sent him to his email regarding the tender bid. However, for the first time he feels like he is not totally focussed on his work given at hand.

He is distracted.

He knows it is kind of strange to happen something like this to him and add the fact that it is a person and moreover, a woman...

Lisa.

He is unaware of the slight changes in the feelings towards her brewing inside him.

Tch.

Focus Jeon.

He tries his best to focus on the work at hand but fails repeatedly as his mind has a will of its own. The thoughts in his head have started to circulate around his wife.

Wife.

How foreign yet ...comforting.

Jungkook thinks and then reprimands himself for loosing his concentration again. He gives it a try again but fails which causes him to get angry at himself and in return making him chuck his phone at the far corner of the bed with a thud.

Now that the thoughts of Lisa stir up his mind, there this foreign feeling.

Longing.

Longing to see her, maybe?

He doesn't know yet what he is feeling at the moment. His mind is tangled with her thoughts. He wants to talk to her like the way she did with him in the jet, the way she conversed with him in the Busan zoo..

Busan zoo..

That place was a complete turning point for their relationship. She had proposed him to be her friend.

Strange.

But what Jungkook finds more strange is the way he accepted her friendship without a hint of hesitation.

Yes, that was when he had started to trust her.

Believe her.

And then the time they unintetionally spent in the forest.

He doesn't know why but he felt at peace around her. The way she talked, laughed and she had taken care of him throughout the whole journey. Jungkook had contemplated this before yet he couldn't and still can't pinpoint any ulterior motives beneath her caring actions.

Even Jungkook can't deny the fact that they were geneuine.. As if she longs to take care of him.

But Jungkook had shrugged that thought away when the painful memories of his father drowning himself in the embrace of alcohol for he had lost his former wife came back flashing in his mind.

Jungkook, however, knows that in forest, they had drawn closer and when he goes deeply through the moments of their togetherness, he long ago had started to hate the fact that he hated her.

But what is more stuck in his mind like a gum were her caring gestures. She never eats before him and he knows, she always serves him, makes him food, always remembers to greet him with a smile full of purity and innocence.

If only he had known, how much Lisa loves him..

How much she longs for him, his touch and how she desperated wanted him to return her love, not completely but just a bit.

Just a bit..

Just a bit would be enough for her to keep her heart beating and just a bit of his heart would be enough for her to continue her life.
