{Happily Ever After}
The beach on a sunny day is breathtaking and a sight to behold. As I walk down the trail of seashells towards JJ, I couldn't help but cry tears of joy. I am about to get married to the love of my life. Not legally. But I am going to be Mrs Maybank today. JJ Maybanks wife. We're going to exchange our vows and showing our family the love we share for each other. Maybe someday, if we ever make it home, we'll have a proper wedding but for not, this is good enough.
I was enjoying the view as I slowly approached JJ, once he noticed my presence, he immediately faces me and the biggest smile plasters across his face. The bright orange sun was hitting the water on the horizon reflecting against his face. Any bit of nerves was washed out of my system when I met his ocean blue eyes. Kie and Sarah start to cry tears of happiness as well as I walk past them, John b walks over to me and links arms with me. He glances down at me and a smile appears on his face. 'I'm so proud of you!' He whispers softly to me as we walk down the aisle of seashells. 'I love you, brother.' I mutter as more tears fall down my cheeks.
John B kisses my cheek as we separate and he joins Sarah's side. JJ gives his hand out to me as he helps me onto the rock. He never let go of my hand as Pope begins to talk. Once Pope finishes talking, it was time for JJ to say his vows. 'Jackie. I can't lie, our lives have been one hell of a rollercoaster.' He chuckles causing all of us to burst out laughing at the complicated situation we're currently stuck in being stranded on an unknown island for the past couple of days, but none of us cared. 'But no matter what happened, you were always there. The bad and good times, you were there. You always made me smile even on my bad days and I will forever be grateful for being blessed to have you in my life. Not only as my best friend, but now as my wife and mother to my child. You have been my best friend, mentor, playmate, and my greatest challenge. But most importantly, you are the love of my life and you make me happier than I could have imagined and more loved than I ever thought possible....You make me a better person, as our love for one another is reflected in the way I live my life. So I am truly blessed to be apart of your life, which as of today becomes forever. I can't wait to start this new chapter in life by your side. I love you.' He exclaims as he places his mother's ring on my finger. I begin to cry uncontrollably at his heart warming words.
'JJ..' I sigh as I take a deep breath, wiping away my tears. 'Today I say 'I do' but to me that means 'I will'. I will take your hand and stand by your side through the good and bad. I will dedicate myself to your happiness, success and smile. I promise to be your guiding light through the darkness, a warming comfort in the cold and a shoulder to lean on when life is too much to bare on your own. I promise to be your navigator, best friend and wife. I promise to honour, love and cherish you through all of life's adventures. Whatever road we cross, we'll cross together. I love you with my whole heart with a passion that can't be expressed in words, only in kisses, glances and tears of adventure by your side. It's you and me forever, JJ.' I say softly as I place my father's ring on his finger.
'You may now kiss the bride!' Pope cheers as he runs over and hugs John B. Cleo, Kie and Sarah burst out crying as they chant our names. 'I've been waiting to kiss you all day.' JJ says before he wraps his arms around my waist and dips me, crashing his lips onto mine. 'Forever.' He mutters through our kiss and I couldn't help but smile. 'And always.' I mutter as I run my hands through his hair. 'Now, let's go find our own private spot.' He exclaims as he picks me up bridal style and runs down the beach, the group all burst out laughing and cheering as we continue to run down the beach.
After a while, we find a nice spot and sit down between two palm trees as I lay beside him as I play with his ring. We are just relaxing, watching the sunset. The best way to end the day. 'I can't believe I'm your husband.' He speaks up in disbelief as I let out a chuckle. 'I can.' I reply placing a kiss on his lips. 'I'm so excited to start this new journey in life with you and soon we'll have someone else to join us.' I say softly as I place my hand on my stomach. A smile appears on JJ's face as he places his hand beside mine, resting it on my stomach. 'You've made me the happiest man alive, Jackie. Not only am I your husband, I'm going to be a father too. All because of you.' He exclaims as he places a soft kiss on my forehead. 'I love you, JJ.' I whisper as I glance up at him. I could see his ocean blue eyes sparkle with happiness and proudness. 'I love you so much, Mrs Maybank.' He chuckles at the last part. I place my hand on his cheek as I straddle my legs either side of him. 'We never done it on a beach.' I whisper in his ear before he smashes his lips against mine.
