I was out for a walk when I came to a bus stop. I was about to turn when I saw something on the ground.
"Who leaves a baby chair here?" I asked confused. The fabric was covered with blood and I panicked. Suddenly I heard something and I followed the sound. Behind a few trash cans stood a box and a newborn baby looked at me. I picked her up and wrapped the blanket around her. "You're so cute and you'll be named Katherine." I said. She held my finger and I smiled softly. "I love you." I said.

I gave her warm milk when we got home. I kissed her on the forehead and she smiled. How can a parent just abandon her child?
"I'll take care of you." I said. Katherine yawned and fell asleep. I lay her gently in her crib and sang a lullaby. I promise to protect you with my life. I won't let anybody hurt you. If anything happens to you, I'll never be able to forgive myself." I said.
