Jugheads POV
I was with Betty as she opened a box and pulled out a necklace.

"Here..." she said to me.

She gave me a necklace saying "this is for Veronica and the bracelet you keep. The vervain will keep you both safe...you can even make some tea or put it in your food or your drink. But as long as you have it, you can't be controlled, so..."

She gave me some leaves and herbs saying "make your mom and dad some tea...make them drink it."

I nodded and I saw the herb saying "my mom has these...in her teas...she soaks them up in water..."

Betty said "do your parents know...about me?"

I shrugged and she said "oh my god..."

She got up and I said "hey don't worry...it might just be some weird thing okay?"

I sighed and Archie came up saying "Betty...can you come down?"

She nodded and she said "stay here okay?"

I nodded and she went down with him.

Bettys POV
"What's going on?" I asked

Kevin sighed and said "I've gotta tell you guys the real reason I came..."

We nodded and he said "I've been training newborns...helping them adapt to society. I have a warlock of my own and he helps create daylight rings...but one day I found all of the newborns dead."

I gasped and he said "their throats were ripped out and they were definitely killed...but the same sloppy patterns that were found with the humans..."

I gulped and Archie said "there's a cannibal vampire?"

He nodded saying "he's not one of mine, but I don't know if they have a ring or necklace or bracelet..."

I gulped and looked at Archie as he said "crap..."

Kevin said "I understand if you can't help, but I thought it could be like old times."

I smiled and said "Kevin we will always help you..."

He nodded and I heard something in the distance.

I said "Juggie...why are you overhearing?"

I turned and he came out from behind the wall and I crossed my arms.

He said "are we gonna get hurt..."

I grabbed his hands saying "I won't let anyone hurt you..."

He smiled and nodded and I smiled back saying "let me take you home."

He nodded and we left.

Jugheads POV
It's been a few days and I was with Veronica as she looked at me.

She brought up "don't you think it's weird? Vampires exist...and now you gave me this to protect me from them."

I laughed and she smiled as suddenly we heard "aww....look it's the rich and her help."

I sighed and Veronica said "knock it off Cheryl."

She rolled her eyes and said "Veronica what's wrong with you? You go from riches to rags just like that?"

I sighed and Veronica said "because at least Jughead cares about me."

She rolled her eyes saying "oh just sleep with him."

Suddenly Veronica punched her and they began fighting. I grabbed Veronica and pulled her off and she screamed and Mr Weatherbee came in between them.

"Both of you better knock it off before both of you are suspended!" He shouted.

Veronica sighed and walked away and I followed her.

"God I hate her..." she huffed out.

She was in her locker fixing her makeup.

I said "don't worry okay..."

She nodded and said "hey look...thanks for the necklace Jughead, I'll see you later...I'm just upset."

She walked off and I frowned as I went to class. That day I was looking through my parents things as the doorbell rang. I went down seeing the pizza delivery guy.

I said "yeah can you just come in and set it down on the table?"

He nodded and I grabbed the money from the jar and gave it to him and he left. As I was eating in my room I snuck into my parents room to try and find anything to see if they knew if vampires.

But as I was looking around I heard "Jug?"

I gulped and turned my head seeing my dad "what are you doing?"

I said "nothing much...I was looking to see if you had any family history in your room."

He nodded and said "well your mom needs to speak to Veronica's parents, so you have the house to yourself okay?"

I nodded and he said "here..."

He gave me a journal saying "it's unknown but... your ancestor used to write too."

He smirked and I smiled and opened the book and he laughed as he went downstairs. That night I was watching a movie when Betty texted me asking if she could come over. As I sat down waiting I opened my ancestors journal. I looked at the first page as it read

Today I met a beautiful girl, curly hair, green eyes, beautiful soft smile. She caught my eye the second I spotted her...

I smiled and continued

But my fear is the monsters will come find her, I can't let them, she's too innocent, a child, just like I was. They cannot hurt her. I won't let them. Even if it means I may die.

I sighed and heard something upstairs. As I put down the book I looked around seeing my pencil case on the floor I picked it up and got it back on the table but then a noise from downstairs rung my ears and I ran down. I looked around seeing the controls on the floor and I walked over and grabbed them as Archie called me.

"Hey Archie what's up?"

He asked "is Betty with you?"

I then said "not yet but she's almost here why?"

He then said "just checking in."

I sighed and said "really?"

He told me "she may be a hundred but she's still like 5 at heart."

I sighed as suddenly I heard hissing. I turned around seeing a guy with his eyes just like Archie and Betty and he ran at me but all of a sudden Betty was in front of me and punched him. She hissed at him and he ran at her and bit her. I panicked and she flipped him on the ground and he ran off. She groaned and I grabbed her as her wound healed.

"He got away...crap how did he get in! I told you to not let random people in Jughead!" She shouted.

I gulped and rubbed my neck.

As she sighed and I said "I'm sorry..."

She shook her head saying "you're okay...but this means your home isn't safe and Archie and I have to kill him."

I gulped and nodded she kissed me saying "come on it's not safe here..."

I nodded and we left.
