Born to a throne Stronger than Rome, But violent-prone. Out of the darkness, I came the farthest. So many wars. Settlin' scores. Bringing us promises.

Oliver

Oliver had left Roy and Sara in the living room a while ago in order to call Anatoly and an old friend of his father's who owned a private plane. He knew that Palmer Tech was in possession of several private jets, but he was in no mood to explain what was going on to Felicity and plead his case. He wanted to get this over with as fast as possible, and arguing with Felicity was never anything that wouldn't delay his plans. And he didn't want her to have to argue her case to the board, he knew things were not that great between her and the board members and he didn't want to make them even more difficult for her, something he was sure was inevitable if she would try to explain to them why her ex-fiance should be able to use one of the planes for personal reasons. He had never been the members' favorite person even while running Queen Consolidated, and there was no doubt in his mind that it wouldn't go over well with them. He really didn't want to put Felicity in that awkward and uncomfortable situation. Besides, there was no reason for that, his father's old friend was more than happy to help him out.

He left the office and went to his and Sara's room to pack some clothes, before calling Thea and Dig to let them know about his absence from Star City, this was when he noticed the object that didn't belong in their bedroom, that hadn't been here before. How hadn't he noticed it before now? Sara must have put it there while he was gone. They hadn't really spent any time apart since his breakdown the night before last. He stepped closer to their bed, and Sara's side of it. What he saw hanging on the headboard brought tears to his eyes and an enormous smile on his face. He walked closer towards the little plush bird. It was blue and appeared to be sitting in a nest. He saw what looked like a teething ring under it. He stepped even closer, lifting his arm in order to touch it, when a familiar voice stopped him in his tracks.

"It plays Mozart's 'Lullaby'. I saw it at the store the day before yesterday and it made me think of you. It was the first thing I picked out for Mila because of that." He turned towards the door and looked at Sara. She stood just barely inside of their room, looking unsure, nibbling on her lower lip.

"It's perfect." He, a little reluctantly, stepped away from their daughter's new musical toy to make sure his wife knew just how much he loved it. He wasn't sure why she seemed so insecure about her purchase. Not only was the toy adorable, and fit perfectly with the theme he had chosen for their little Hummingbird's room, the simple fact that it was one of the very first items Sara had bought for their daughter and she had done it because the little bird made her think of him was enough to make him love it.

"You sure?" He didn't hesitate to bend down and kiss her lips before pulling her into a tight embrace. It was in that moment that he realized they had never gotten around to look at all the items Sara and Dinah had bought for their daughter and he felt a stab in his heart. With everything going on, neither one of them had remembered the shopping trip the two women had taken and the purchases they had made. It had been such an enormous step for Sara. And he was so proud of her achievement. He felt horrible for not acknowledging it and celebrating with her while going through everything she had bought. Giving her the security and confidence she needed. Making sure she knew he was fine with whatever she chose to get for their baby girl. It was important and something they needed to do and he needed to address once he was back home. He didn't want to do it now, not while time was an issue and Roy was in the next room. It was something he wanted to do while they had as much time as they needed to decide where to put what or built whatever needed to be put together. It was too important to rush.

"Yes, absolutely. Thank you. I love it." He kissed her crown affectionately while rubbing her back comfortingly. And it wasn't until he was sure she believed him, thanks to her mumbled, "I knew you would." That he dared to tease her a little.
