So your new place was a shithole. You didn't dare to sneeze, fearing the whole building would fell apart. The men from the company who helped you move were kind enough to carry everything up to your flat, but it would take you weeks to clean up fully and unpack everything. Oh what fun. So far you were living there for a week, but still more than half of your things were unpacked. You needed to buy shelves for your books, a wardrobe and so much other stuff, especially in the nursery.
You caressed your little baby bump and walked around the flat. It was fortunate you could save money while you were living with your asshole of an ex. The place needed a good old paint over too. There were dark spots on the walls that made you wanna puke.
The elevator gave you the creeps too. Everytime you entered it you prayed for whoever was up there listening so you won't fall down. It was easier when others were in there too, it gave you a little relief that you were not completely alone and helpless. Like right now. Penny an old lady who was living a floor below you was in there too, and your direct neighbour Jake slid in before the door could close.
"So how did the appointment go?" - Penny asked with a sweet smile.
You and her met on the day you moved in and she was really kind, offering advices on pregnancy, being a mother of three herself. She was very helpful.
"The doctor said everything's okay, but he told me to take it easy because of the upcoming heat." - you said as you rubbed your small baby bump.
Jake's eyes snapped down to your stomach. He didn't notice you were pregnant the few times he saw you, but as he watched you closely now, he could detect your tummy standing out more as you smoothed your hands down on it, your cute floral sundress curving over the small bump.
