After a much-needed morning at the waterslide park, the gang (excluding Vylad, Tatiana, Melissa and Dante - Dante was hanging out with Nicole) headed back to the house for a late lunch.
Their mops of hair were still damp and their towels were either in their arms or draped over their shoulders.
Remmi and Kasey had seemingly come prepared and brought towel hoodies, like hooded ponchos. Remmi's had soft tropical flowers while Kasey's had a blue camouflage design.
Just as Garroth and Aphmau were laughing at the idea that there could be any more friends that they could possibly run into, they placed a bet. Fifty bucks if they find someone they know that week for Aphmau, and if they didn't, the money would go to Garroth.
Unfortunately, Garroth doomed them all and jinxed himself. He didn't find just one, he found four.
"So how many trophies have you won?" Kim remarked as Garroth draped an arm over her shoulder, glancing towards Laurance.
Laurance ran a hand through his hair and laughed, "Well, there's my soccer trophies, theatre awards-"
"You did theatre!?" Katelyn exclaimed, pushing past Travis.
"-Yeah, but only in middle school."
"I second that," Cadenza cut in, "He was only cast because of his looks, but he sucked," She whispered to Katelyn, who wheezed from laughter.
"Anyway, then my championship trophies-" Laurance was interrupted by running into a familiar man with black hair.
"Watch it," The black-haired man spat.
Another girl with accented grey hair cut in, putting her hands on the guy's chest as if to push him away. "Woah, Woah, Woah. Remember, what did we talk about?" She asked, then turned to the group and widened her purple eyes.
"What are you guys doing here!?" The girl exclaimed excitedly. Sasha. Then beside her could only have been...
"What?" Gene questioned dumbfoundedly, glancing at each individual person.
"Hold on..." Nana interrupted, "So, if- but- you- You guys- I- huh?" She stammered, losing her ability to speak.
"Hey, guys! We found some people you'd like to see~!" Sasha sang, turning to a couple not too far off, who were admiring the coastal view.
Aphmau smirked and leaned towards Garroth, "Got that fifty bucks?"
Garroth rolled his eyes at her comment making a droned-out spluttering sound from his lips.
The couple walked over and the girl with sandy blonde hair ran over after recognising them and immediately engulfed Nana in a hug.
"Hey!" Becca squealed, "You're not showing yet," She whispered, meanwhile Becca's bump had managed to become more noticeable pushing at her dress. She was almost five months through.
"You sure are," Nana answered receiving an eye roll from the girl.
"Come on," Zane whined, "You choose to hug my girlfriend first, and not me? What a lousy twin sister."
Zane pouted like a child as Becca silent laughed. One by one she embraced hugs to Aaron, Aphmau, Katelyn, Remmi, Lucinda, Cadenza, and Kim, then landed on her older brother who seemed mad.
"D'aww is GarGar mad?" She teased, "What's your problem? Laurance take your stuff?"
"I lost my bet 'cuz of you."
Becca raised her eyebrows, "Did you now?"
"Yep."
"Well, I'm the one who's carrying your niece or nephew, so you'd better stay on my nice side."
"Y'know, mum and dad are actually on the island..."
Becca slapped Garroth on the arm, "Thanks for breaking my mood." She frowned, "No hug for you."
"I can live with that."
Nana grinned and her tail swished from side to side, "I thought you guys were going on vacation. I didn't think that meant here."
"Well, we saved up and booked a place for all of us last year. We just didn't think that Becca would be pregnant and so irritable. We've been here since last week," Gene clarified.
"Where's Vylad?" Becca asked as Zenix draped his arm over her shoulder.
"Hanging out with his girlfriend somewhere," Zane replied with a scoff.
"The wolf girl?" Sasha questioned.
"Yeah, Tatiana, but she's stuck as a human now," Aph responded.
"And howls the shit outta herself at night," Remmi mumbled accompanied by a childish huff.
"So, Shadow Knights in paradise, that's interesting. Shadows despise the sun," Travis said aloud unintentionally getting the response he didn't want.
"Would you guys like to have lunch with us? We were thinking burgers, fries and a dip in the pool," Katelyn suggested to the quad.
"Why not?" Zenix said as they looked at one another.
"Sounds like fun. We're in," Sasha said to the group.
