The next few days following Kasey and Remmi's confession led the pair to come closer together, keeping their newfound relationship as quiet as possible.

Unfortunately, as roommates, both Vylad and Tatiana managed to find out. Sure, they were both more smiley around each other but they miraculously figured out how to keep themselves exactly the same way they were before their canoe ride.

Not much really did change actually.

But now, the two would sneak off from the group more often, causing their older sisters to occasionally raise an eyebrow.

The brief question surpassed the group multiple times when the pair were noticed to be missing. It was always something along the lines of:

"Hey, where'd Kasey go?"
And often answered with, "I think he went off with Remmi."

Even though how much Nana wanted to run off and follow her younger sister, the girl knew she'd been subconsciously distancing herself from her own partner.
She'd been distancing herself from Zane.

It wasn't deliberate but Nana feared she'd begun to show an unnoticeable bump as she entered her second trimester.

The girl figured it would just pass as a normal thing for when you put on weight, but she knew she couldn't hide it forever. The constant pressure and stress felt exhausting.

To lighten the mood, Zane had invited Nana to pick strawberries and create a chocolate fondue dressing. With the beautiful haven of fluorescent colours radiating the setting sky, Nana and Zane headed back to their luxurious room with the sweets in tow.

They closed and locked their bedroom door before lying themselves down on the bare, newly vacuumed carpet floor, cushioning themselves with their bedded pillows.

Seemingly, their more recent dates had involved fruits.

Grapes, now strawberries.

Zane swished around a crimson-toned berry, in the warm homebound scent of milk chocolate. The boy brought the dressed berry to Nana's mouth, which she proceeded with by biting off a petite chunk. While Zane finished the rest of it, going for another one.

"You're right. Freshly picked strawberries and newly mixed chocolate are a match made in heaven," Nana declared, picking up her own.

"I gotta say, I'm impressed. Your recipe and the strawberries are absolutely delicious," Zane answered, returning a lighthearted grin.

"Thank you for getting us to do this," Nana said, "I've missed these carefree dates of ours. We haven't done one like this for a while."

"Perhaps our next one with be after the baby's born."

"That's too long!" Nana protested, "The baby will be here in six months."

"Six months isn't that traumatic? Six months or so and we'll be able to meet our baby."

Nana rolled her eyes, "I checked in with the resort doctor last week, briefly asking the question. We'll soon be able to know the baby's gender."

"Really? That's incredible!"

"Dr Ro'Meave," Nana sassed, "I thought you were a physician, haven't you dealt with all this before?" She teased, placing down a strawberry leaf into the scraps bowl.

"This is different. This is us. Not some random couple who helplessly come into the ER." Zane retorted.

"Okay, Dr Zane. So, we agreed to find out the baby's gender. Which of the two are you hoping for?"

"I'd like a girl. Beca says so too. But part of me says it's a boy. But I won't be disappointed if we don't get one and get the other," Zane answered, receiving a laugh from Nana. "What?"

Nana giggled to herself, "Nothing. No, seriously. It's nothing. Don't worry."

Zane quickly changed the subject, "So, um... I was wondering if we could head up the mountain in a few days, only if you're up for it. Not too far, but enough to capture the view and escape the crowds." He suggested, "Perhaps a late night walk, know what I mean?"

The meif~wa nodded, "Why not? That sounds fun."

"Great! How about Sunday? Do you girls have anything planned?"

She shook her head, "Nothing on Sunday. Although... on Friday, tomorrow, Lucinda wants to stop by the shopping district. I think most of us are trying to get us out of it, but she'd probably threaten us and use a potion to turn us into spiders or something."

"Spiders, huh? That's not fun."

"I know right? So, Sunday?"

"It's a date."
