CHAPTER 70 / GARROTH'S GIRL PROBLEM

Garroth Ro'Meave had always been one to swoon over girls and be crushed on. If you get what I mean. His long-forgotten way to manipulate the opposite gender had been confident and subtle, even easy, but as he'd gotten older it significantly dropped to a level where he could barely speak.

With his stutters and awkward social effect around women he didn't know, blocked a wall to reel them in, which just made things harder. It was like trying to catch a fish without bait.

Yet, Garroth has gotten so much better over the years, dating Kim as well as disturbing the ladies on the island as he walked past. Or maybe it was his popularity on YouTube that had brought in gold-diggers, who knew? Garroth's entire reputation leapt, yet also collapsed when he slept with Cadenza. Not lying next to one another, the other one.

And when Laurance found out, it wasn't pretty.

The night before they'd all ended the day by opening up bottles of alcohol until they were all wasted. Between brandy, whiskey, wine, champagne, beers, vodka, and shots, everything was downed. A handful of them couldn't even get to their bedrooms and passed out on the floor.

But, a handful of them did move it out. I'm not going to say who, yet, one of them was Garroth and Cadenza. Lucinda had found out first when she was nursing a definite hangover with Panadol and walked into the room.

They both admitted it was a mistake that never should have happened in the first place. Well, it shouldn't have. But, as Garroth was silently sneaking out, messily dressed with a pounding headache, Laurance saw him leave and pulled him into a linen closet. Laurance being mad would have been an understatement.

"Garroth! I know you slept with Cadenza last night," Laurance accused with a hushed yell.

Garroth sighed, "You saw that?"

"Of course I did. What is wrong with you?! Sure, if it wasn't your best friend's sister, he would have been proud of you, but this is not. What about Kim? If she was to find out about this in the wrong way, she's not going to be happy," the brunette persisted.

In a flash, Garroth covered Laurance's mouth. He pulled it off to make sure he'd shut up. "Laur, look. Last night was a huge mistake, okay? It wasn't supposed to happen, but, yeah, it did. I can't change what happened, I wish I could have changed it, but I can't. We were all drunk last night, and sometimes, things happen," Garroth explained trying to cover his arse. His voice had elevated to a beg.

Garroth hadn't even gotten around to thinking of the possibilities of which Kim would find out about his affair. He didn't know what to do, or how to fix it. Cadenza was his friend, but he was dating Kim.

Laurance leaned against the closet wall and pinched the bridge of his nose. "At least you realised it was wrong. I know things can happen. Hear me out, bro, close one."

"What? It's not as simple as that."

Laurance restarted his train of thought. "I've seen you hang out with Cadenza on occasion, I've watched you have a good time with her. But you've done the same with Kim."

"I'm not dating Cadenza. She's my friend, Laurance."

"Listen, someone's gonna get hurt. Come clean with both of them or you're gonna lose both of them."

Garroth bit his lip and looked to the ground. He hadn't noticed that was falling for Cadenza. Cadenza was friendly and playful. She always thought outside the box, had a wild imagination and knows how to have fun.

Kim was different. She loved the read, and she was organised, yet she was relaxing and quiet. Kim always followed things by the boom but didn't procrastinate. Both women were so unique in their ways, beautiful and would make his stomach startle the butterflies that lurked inside.
