2nd Person's POV

Dating Mycroft has its ups and downs, but so does every relationship.

He's usually busy in the office, practically running a whole country on his back and trying to keep his younger brother out of trouble.

With this in mind, you knew you won't be able to see him as much as you wanted, but you accepted it.

You two also agreed to keep your relationship private, knowing Mycroft has made some enemies at his job, and he wanted to protect you.

But there was just one lingering thought that gnaws on the back of your head every time you both visit Sherlock and Watson.

Miss Hudson was a good friend of yours. You always enjoyed drinking tea with her and chatting.

You two even go out shopping together when you're both free.

She was practically your sister.

But, sometimes, you catch Mycroft looking at her fondly, making your chest tighten.

You didn't think much of it, knowing they've known each other for a long time.

But there's this annoying little voice telling you there's something more...

And you hated the fact that you would question your lover and friend.

You shook your head and slapped your cheeks, trying to focus on your job.

'Just need Mickey to sign this, and I can go home for the night...' you reassured yourself as you stood up from your seat, making your way to his office.

"Mickey? I need your signature on-" you walked into his office and saw Miss Hudson inside, making you stop.

"(Y/N)!" she happily exclaimed as she hugged you, making you blink in confusion.

"Hi...?" you greeted and hugged back, confused as you looked at Mycroft.

"I better get going. It was nice seeing you!" Miss Hudson excused herself as she left the office, making you raise a brow at Mycroft.

He cleared his throat as he adjusted his tie.

"Did you need something, (Y/N)?" Mycroft asked, making you furrow your brows.

You opened your mouth to say something but decided against doing it at work.

"I just need your signature on these reports," you answered, walking up to him with documents.

As Mycroft signed the papers, you looked around the office, half bored and half wanting to see if something was off.

"(Y/N)?" he called out, catching your attention.

"Is there something on your mind?" he asked, his eyes fixated on the documents.

You clenched your jaw as you thought about what to say, unsure if this was the right move.

"...What was Miss Hudson doing in your office?" you asked in a hushed tone, making Mycroft raise his head at you.

"What do you mean?" he asked, making you ball your hands.

"I mean... Why was Miss Hudson here?" you asked again, your eyes focused on his desk.

"She was just visiting," he reassured and went back to signing the papers, but his answer didn't ease your anxieties.
