2nd Person's POV

"I like you! Please go out with me!"

"I appreciate your feelings, but I am afraid I can't reciprocate them..."

You heard a girl and William from the bushes, freezing you from the awkwardness.

'Sorry, lady... I just wanted to get out of tutoring lessons. I didn't mean to overhear...' you internally apologized as you kept quiet.

"Yes... Thank you for listening to them," the girl replied, clearly faking her tone as you heard footsteps approaching.

You held your breath as the girl walked past you, luckily not noticing your presence as she headed back to the school building.

You sighed in relief as your body loosened up.

"(Y/N)," William called out, making freeze.

You tried to keep quiet, hoping he would go, but you could already see him looking at you through the leaves.

"Come out," he smiled threateningly, making your skin grow goosebumps.

You nervously laughed as you stood up from the bushes and pulled the branches and leaves out of your hair.

"How did you know I was there?" you asked, stepping out of the bushes as William held your hand for balance.

"Have I ever had trouble finding you?" he questioned, making you breathe out a smile.

"That's true..." you muttered, slipping your hand out of his, "Well, thanks for the help," you saluted as you tried to run, but William grabbed your arm before you could even take a step.

"Where do you think you're going?" he asked, making you gulp as you felt the air getting heavy.

"I DON'T GET IT!"

"SHH!" you flinched, the librarian's angry stare boring into your soul.

"Sorry..." you softly apologized, sighing in frustration at the practice test on your desk.

"Who would even put letters into math?" you grumbled, making William chuckle.

"You just need practice," he encouraged, checking your paper.

"Excuse me..." a girl, for the fifth time that day, called out to you both.

"U-Uh..." she muttered, intimidated by your stares.

"...We're usually done after six," you answered, making her sigh in relief.

"Thank you!" she bowed, rushing out of the library.

William turned to you with a deadpan stare, to which you replied by shrugging your shoulders.

"It's Valentine's day. What did you expect?" you questioned, looking at the corrections to your work.

"I don't see what's so special," William sighed, mentally exhausted at all the people who approached him today as he gave you another worksheet.

"It's because of the legend in the school," you giggled, reading the questions.

"Legend?" William repeated, making you look at him.

"Yeah, you know...? About confessing by the large tree by the gates?" you answered, pointing at it with your pen, but William kept a questioning expression.

"The legend says that anyone who confesses on Valentine's day by that tree will be blessed with eternal love," you answered, making him raise a brow.

"And people believe it is true?"

"Why not?" you shrugged, "There's no harm in believing, right?" you added, scribbling on the worksheet.

"Oh, right!" you exclaimed, grabbing your bag off the floor.

You rummaged through your things as you pulled out a gift.

"Here," you smiled as you gave it to him.

"I know how sick you are of chocolates this time of year, so I tried making that stargazy pie you always eat," you smiled, making William look at you in disbelief.

"Happy Valentine's Day," you added, facing back to your worksheet.

William softly smiled as he carefully put your gift into his bag.

"This legend... Is there even proof that it is legitimate?"

"Well, rumors are saying that students who confessed at that tree got married years later. Why?" you asked, your eyes not leaving your paper.

"Hm..." William leaned to his desk, gazing at the tree with a soft smile.

"Just a curious thought,"
