2nd Person's POV

You sighed for the nth time as the bell tower chimed again, marking the third hour of your waiting for Albert.

'He forgot our date... again...' you concluded, raising your hand to a waiter and asking for the bill.

You knew your lover was a mystery and kept things behind his smile, but his warmth and kindness were enough to pull you in and fall for him.

You understood at first his lack of attention for you, knowing how hard it must be to balance his work, family, and relationship with you.

But slowly, insecurities started seeping in as women made brash rumors about him, saying how you were not enough for him and he had another lover on the days he was gone.

It also didn't help how tired he looked whenever Albert would see you or how he would avert his gaze whenever you asked how he was during his absences.

After careful thought and debate, you decided to talk and give it one last chance.

"Seriously..." you grumbled, pulling your coat closer to your body as you walked home.

"He couldn't spare five minutes?" you huffed, glaring at the sidewalk as the cold wind prickled your skin.

"Maybe over a letter was a better idea..." you frowned, recalling you practicing your speech numerous times for the evening, but it all ended in vain.

You stopped as you saw waterdrops falling onto the sidewalk, making you touch your cheek and feel tears running down.

You frowned as you wiped away the tears, but they kept coming as you started to sniffle.

'No... Not here...!' you reminded yourself, covering your face as you tried to calm yourself down.

"Hey," a hand grabbed your arm harshly, making you stop and turn around.

It was a man looming over you with two others behind him, staring straight at you.

"...C-Can I help you?" you replied, trying to pull back your arm, but the man's grip was too strong.

He looked at a picture in his hand and glanced at you, cracking a toothy grin as he grabbed you harshly.

"You're coming with us,"

Albert tightened his jaw as he walked to your date spot, his whole body tense as Lord Barsham's words repeated in his head.

"If you're not careful, someone might steal that pretty little doll of yours..."

Albert grimaced as his pace quickened, only to be stopped by sharp pains all over his torso.

Albert sighed as he slowly stood up, scolding himself for being too hasty for today's missions, forcing himself to keep walking.

"Mr. Albert!" Fred called out as he jumped from building to building, catching up to Albert.

"Fred?" Albert muttered as the boy landed behind him, out of breath.

"What are you-"

"It's Mx. (L/N)... they've been kidnapped..."

You hissed as you opened your eyes, seeing blurry figures running around frantically as screams and gunshots surrounded you.

"What..." you grumbled, your head feeling like it was split open as you tried to sit up.

You felt someone grab you by the shoulders and lift you.

"I got them!" a familiar voice shouted, but you could feel the darkness envelop you again.

"Ugh..." you groaned as you woke up, seeing a white ceiling as the streetlights seeped through the window.

You grunted as you sat up, feeling the bandages wrapped tightly on your head.

Looking around, you concluded you were in a hospital room with another patient beside you, but the curtain between you made it difficult to recognize them.

"Hey..." you called out, hoping your roommate knew what happened, but heard no reply.

'Are they asleep already?' you questioned, looking for a clock to see what time it was.

You heard a grunt and saw your roommate slowly sitting up and moving the curtain, revealing it was Albert.

"Albert...!" you instinctively called out, making him look up.

"(Y/N)...!" he breathed out as he rushed to your sighed, groaning as he held his stomach.

"Hey, take it easy!" you scolded as you helped him stay upright, his clothes all dirty and torn up.

"Are you okay? What happened?" you asked, trying to recall, but the headache made it hard to think.

"I'm fine... I just got shot-"

"-You got shot!?"

"-In a bulletproof vest, dearest..." Albert finished as he unbuttoned his shirt, showing his chest and stomach covered in bandages.

"Just a few bruises is all," he reassured, catching you by surprise as you quickly turned away, trying to hide the embarrassment.

"R-Right..." you coughed, making him chuckle as he buttoned back his shirt.

"Then I'm guessing those men were involved with you?" you asked, making him solemnly nod.

"Is this why you would be late for our dates?" you asked, making him sigh.

"You could say that..." he answered, holding your hand.

"You were never meant to be put in harm's way. I made sure of that. But all of it just led to straining our relationship and hurting you. So I thought..." he mumbled, his head laying low as his hands started tensing up.

"Albert," you called out, lifting his head.

"Whatever it is, I will hear you out, okay?" you reassured, rubbing his cheek with your thumb.

Albert frowned as he touched the bandages on your head.

"I've faced worse things from the noble women pining over you," you brushed off, making him chuckle.

"Then I need to do a better job showing I belong to only you," he retorted as he kissed your knuckles, catching you off guard.

"Are you okay now?" you asked as Albert nodded.

"Thank you, (Y/N)..." he whispered, making you smile.

"Now... I'll tell you everything you want to know,"
