"Roop? Amrit is calling you." She heard Priya, her Tayi ji's voice while she was looking at the brewing tea. She tried to play coy with earphones in her ears, no song playing.

"Rooooop." This time she heard the man himself before it was his brothers or anyone else conveying the messages.

It had been a week since the night incident and all she did was avoid him, she didn't know what he was trying to do, one minute he was cold and then he acted normal.

"Ab to chali jao." Priya said, shaking her head with a smile, "I'll see the tea." She shooed her away. (Go now)

Mihir's teasing smile was the first thing she saw when she stepped out of the kitchen, making an annoyed face at him, she stomped upstairs, confused by Amrit's actions.

She cleared her throat, entering the room, trying to gather his attention but he ignored her, she even stood close to him so he could notice her but he didn't pay any attention.

"You called?" She asked, making his head immediately turn to her.

"I'm going to take a shower, take my clothes out." He said, moving towards the bathroom.

She looked at his retreating back incredulously, did he just call her for that? The same man who ignored the clothes she picked out for the first week of their marriage and wore other ones was now asking her to pick out clothes.

She shook her head, not taking out the clothes and went back downstairs.

"Kya tha? Kya tha?" Mihir asked excitedly only to earn a smack on the back of his neck from his brother, "Mummy, bhai maar rahe hain!" He whined, looking for his mother.
(what was it? what was it? | Mom, Bhai is hitting me)

"Who asks a married woman what her husband wanted?" Rahil asked, looking at his brother who was nothing but stupid, repeating the same things he did with Avni.

"Toh mai to kabse keh raha hoon meri shaadi karwa do, aap log hi nahi sunte, mujhe kaise pata chalega?" Mihir frowned.
(So since when have I been saying get me married, you people don't even listen, how will I know?)

"No one wants to marry an immature person, grow up first." Rahil replied, rolling his eyes.

"Haan toh bhabi is younger than me, unki bhi to aap logo ne bhai se shadi karwa di." He argued, putting his point forward, "and I'm well settled too."
(Yes so? bhabhi is younger than me, you people also got her married to bhai)

"Bhabi ki shadi nahi hoti to bhai ki deal kaise poori hoti." Saanvi interjected, a winning smile on her face. Her comment stopped Roop's hand that was reaching for something. (If she wasn't married then how would bhai's deal be completed?)

"I heard you were fired from your last job? Bhai ki deal ka toh pata nahi par tumhari zarur cancel kar sakta hoon mai. Stay within your limits." Rahil replied his voice anything but sweet. Saanvi went back to using her phone after muttering a sorry. (I don't know about bhai's deal but I'll surely cancel yours)

"I'm sorry." Mihir looked down, feeling guilty.

"It's okay, she didn't say anything wrong, it's the truth." Roop shrugged his apology away, feeling no need for it. She liked when people were real to her face instead of back bitching, atleast she knew how they felt about her.

"But-"

"It's okay." She patted his head, walking away from there.

Mihir shook his head with a frown, not liking her dismissive behaviour, Saanvi had no right to say anything to her, it wasn't any of her business.
