Two minutes passed but Amrit made no move to stand up and go inside, making Roop turn to him in confusion.

"Someone's here to meet you." She reminded him, poking his forearm softly.

He stood up from the swing before holding her hand and pulling her with him too, "Wear them." He pointed to her slippers, she quickly wore them as he looked like he was in a hurry but instead of going inside, he started walking the opposite way.

"Where are we going?" She asked, "I didn't know udhar se bhi raasta hai." She frowned to herself, not knowing about the secret entrance. (I didn't know there was a way in from here too)

"It's probably bua ji and her guests." He answered, rolling his eyes. He never liked her guests, always making unnecessary comments and gestures.

"But-"

"Shhh." He kept a finger on her lips, making her go silent. Looking at her flustered self, he decided not to tease her about her red face and continued walking before she ditches him and runs back inside.

"Where are we going?" She asked.

"Somewhere those idiots won't find us." He answered, his hand not leaving hers. She tried pulling her hand out of his but he refused to leave it.

He stopped nearing a rock, it was just a big rock nothing else. She looked at him and then at the rock, why were they there? She wanted to ask but didn't, waiting for him to get done with whatever he wanted to, she'll ask all her questions later.

Pulling her behind the rock, he sat down, trying to pull her down with him but she refused to.

"What if there's some keeda down there?" She shook her head, "I'm not sitting there." She declared, taking a step back but he grabbed her wrist, pulling her down on his lap. (Insect)

"Now, the keeda will get to me first, okay?" He asked, making her sit comfortably as he adjusted his legs.

"But-"

"Is that your favourite word?" He asked with a light chuckle, she says that alot, and he noticed in all the times he talked to her.

Both of them didn't say anything to each other after that, one was enjoying the position while the other was trying to decipher what was going on, Amrit took a hold of Roop's hand, caressing it.

"Why?" Roop finally asked, looking at him.

"Why what?"

"Why are you doing this? Why now?" She asked, snatching her hand out of his, his behavior was concerning her at this point. The man who wanted nothing to do with her for the last three months was acting like they were friends.

"Do you not want this?" He asked, trying to study her expression but her face gave away nothing.

"Does it matter? I wanted this, no wait, I needed this three months ago, when we got married but not anymore, I've come to terms with whatever has happened and I'm content with it now, I don't...I don't want to be a part of another deal you might be having or whatever it is." He heard her say as she wrapped her arms around herself, to shield herself maybe.

"This..you think it's a deal?" He asked, trying to hold her hand but she refused to budge.

"Isn't this whole marriage is?" She asked, he didn't reply, giving her all the answers. "It's fine anyways, not like no one already knows that." She shrugged, heaving out a sigh as she made a move to get up from his lap but he was fast enough to keep her in her place.

"So you're saying that you don't want to give this relationship a chance, yes?" He asked.

"This is not your office, don't try to do that businessman shit with me." She looked at him sternly, "I asked you a question and I'm asking it again, why now? What changed?" She asked, gulping down her saliva.
