Y/n's POV:

I won't lie, I kinda wanna get the quick run-down over and done with. I grew up sorta being the glass child, my brother, Charlie, was always favoured over me and I have to admit, it sucked. He got the attention and my mom was his biggest fan while my dad delt with the toughest challenge by making me and my mom happy. It sucked when he died. I was there and I was in hospital with him and one day his heart just... failed.

I won't depress you with the details of recovery, arguments, and being repeatedly shouted at and hated on by my brother, best friend, and mother. I practically shoved all of them away and they are still expecting me to apologise but as I'm staying in my one bedroom apartment, I'm barely scraping by and the job I have is helping me keep afloat. I will still not apolohise.

My job isn't the greatest, but it's not bad. I work at a bookshop that's just a couple of minutes down the street and my shift starts in 15 minutes.

Right now, I'm at this coffee shop and I'm working on my novel and I open my book to take a break, I have my earphones in as I don't have enough money for wireless earphones. I'm trying to save up my money as I'm doing some freelance writing here-and-there and getting some decent money when I sell my work but it's not enough for me to fully invest my time in. Especially since I'm not with an actual company like The New York Times or... or any other newspaper.

Although, I'm always interested in Photojournalism, I took a course at the community collage and I was close to getting a job but apparently there was a better candidate so I got denied. I look around and see someone come in, they hold the door open for the person behind them and offer their charming smile. I scoff. I pack my stuff up and I shove it all in my bag, and make my way to the bookshop.

I'm working and putting some books away, it's sometimes difficult as my boss, Brianna, has some sections in alphabetical order and other sections don't. What I love about this bookshop though is that there is 3 floors, the floor where the doors are - the second floor - is nice and the third floor is a cafe on one-side and the other side is just more books. But it's the first floor that I think a lot of people adore.

It's got many many old style books and there is even some books that have writing in them that date back to 1893. There is this one book, The House of Defense by E.F Benson and on the first blank page, it says:

"Katharine Vahe.

October 1929." I'm assuming that the person who owned this book was in love with said Katharine Vahe. However, the writing is so unique that I'm not even sure if it's Vahe or Vane. You can tell that it's old, though. I'm on the third floor and I'm putting books out, sometimes using a ladder just to get to the highest shelf even though, I'm quite tall for a 19 year old.

I feel someone bump into me,

"Hey, watch where your going, asshole." The guy insults me, glaring at me.

"Babe, come on." I hear his girlfriend say, dragging him away as he continues to glance at me and shake his head. I roll my eyes and head to another section.

*****

I'm having a cup of hot chocolate in the cafe of my work and I see Samantha's working on the counter, I head over.
