The room smelled of bacon. A smell I'm so used to that I woke up, expecting to see my own room and hear mom yell for me to eat. But, as before, disappointment washed over me seeing it isn't my room but the same luxuriously big room I had fallen asleep in after trying to find information about Kain. A deep sigh retained all the emotions passing through myself when I heard a quick knock at the door. "Come in" I said in the most uninterested tone. After all, I felt depressed knowing this truly wasn't a dream.

"Sir, b-breakfast is ready," a woman bowed to me. I nodded my head, getting out of bed with all of Kains books still scattered on it. "I-I'll leave right away!" She closed the door, scattering about to gather her things when I walked out of the room, watching her freeze when we made eye contact. "I-I'm sorry!!" Her stuttering annoyed me. Kain is an ass, I'll admit that but does this woman have to be so on edge? It's not like he killed anyone before- from what I know at least...

"What am I like?" I asked suddenly, cursing myself when the woman stared at me as if I was insane. "I mean...why do I make you so scared?" I rearranged my question, making it more sensible as the woman gasped, bowed deeply. "I'M SORRY IF I OFFENDED YOU!" for god's sake!!! I sighed, about ready to give up because she hardly answered me and rather shouted out an apology. "Just answer the question" I spoke in an annoyed tone, of course and not surprisingly she got on her knees, ready to beg for forgiveness. "If you don't answer the questions truthfully. I'll really get mad" I beat her to it though. Causing the woman to freeze in her spot, contemplate, then fidget about as she thought whether she should be truthful and what not.

"Uhm...the reason I'm so scared of you, sir, is because of your temper. You easily get mad and resort to violence. One time, uh..." she stopped for a moment, slowly slipping off her shirt over her shoulder showing a 3 inch scar. I winced, hoping she's not going to say Kain was responsible for it. "...you got so mad once and threw a picture frame and injured me. Many of the staff here had quit because they feared for their lives and were scared you'd one day cripple them..." her shouldered relaxed after slipping her shirt back on, as if finally being able to speak about Kains bad behavior let a burden off her. Hearing what she had to say, I truly knew I could not act as the real Kain. I hardly had a temper. Let alone did I commit to violence whenever I did get angry. Hell, I can't hurt a mouse if I wanted to.

"...why did you stay?" I had to ask. This young lady, despite having been injured by Kain already, stayed to work for him. It'd make more sense had she left already but just why did she stay?

"...I....I witnessed you crying by yourself once. That day, I forgot my car keys in the kitchen. I came back inside and grabbed them when I heard whimpering from the bathroom upstairs. I...I got scared you were hurt sir! So I ran upstairs to your aid when I heard you crying and mumbling...ever since I...I couldn't bring myself to leave you by yourself..." so she pitied Kain and decided to stay because she saw a weak side of him. That's the reason. I see.

"What did I mumble?"

"Pardon?" She looked up at me, meeting my rather relaxed eyes as I repeated my question. "What did I mumble when you heard me crying in the bathroom?" It's important to know what Kain said as he cried. Why? So I can get a better grasp of him. To understand him more. Otherwise I won't be able to be him. "Well...I couldn't hear it all but I heard some of it" she stated, thinking for a while when she gasped, remembering.

"Sorry...not being...awakened...dad" she said. "That's what I heard. I apologize for eavesdropping on you, sir. I was just very worried..." her trembling came back, scared for her life.

It's easy to figure out what Kain cried about that night. He probably cried every night because of it. He's sorry he wasn't born an awakened one. Since he addressed his father, maybe his dad wanted an awakened child and had expectations for one. Thus explaining how Kain knew about awakened ones despite not being one himself. His father probably told him as a child, expecting him to be awakened.
