Feeling the beads of hot water running down my face felt incredible. Whatever Lauren's intention was in punishing me isn't going to work, I will prove to her that I can make something of myself. I will prove that my insecurities do not define the success I am going to have

I was raised by many, dragged by most. My mind may not be as strong as hers but my heart certainly is. I have nothing else to lose, making an elite name for myself is a goal I will not retire nor give away. Let failure find me, let pain destroy me, but before I die, my future will be set

I stepped out of the shower and dragged a towel over my body, my eyes settling across to the window in which the night had fallen with no warning. My chest hiccuped on a breath and suddenly I found myself reliving every moment of pain that had ever become me

'Use it' Emma said to me only a few days ago, all I'd ever read about was artists finding their power through misfortune and by god did I have enough for everyone. It didn't take me long to realise I was headed back for the dance studio, it didn't close until eleven now so I had time to cram in another session

I twisted my key in the lock and sucked a deep breath of silence as many others fled to go clubbing. The hall was dead, filled by the sound of my sneakers as I navigated towards Emma's studio, when approaching however I heard a new movement of sound

It was a song I'd heard earlier in the day after Emma had left the speakers to play, 2WEI - Gansta's Paradise.. a powerful and majestic song that had me following its rhythm quickly. When peering into the window, my jaw fell open and my eyes wide

It was Lauren

She had a tight black sports bra on and tiny pair of black booty shorts that exposed her magnificently strong thighs. Her hair was down and messy, flying over her back and shoulders with every twist and turn she made in her powerful routine

I could see the anger in her face as she moved, the passion in her arms as she shot them around to pirouette within the barely lit room. Her chest glistened with sweat and her feet moved as if walking on air. She was so flexible and strong, I'd never seen her dance like this in my life, energy and strength so divine and overwhelming I almost forgot to breathe

She didn't see me, I'm glad she didn't. I wanted to drink the entire moment up until I could no longer swallow. Watching her leap and turn so effortlessly made me realise suddenly exactly why she was the sole owner of this worldwide academy. Nobody danced like Lauren, nobody had the power that she had and strangely I felt my eyes welling with water

She was in pain, venting some kind of agony that even I couldn't come close to. There was something astounding about her rage, the way it moved her across the room and elated her face with raw emotion. This is who I needed to be, not Sam, not Emma.. Lauren

When the song came to an end she sank against the floor and allowed her palms to fall just in front. Panting for her breath she looked like a warrior after winning a battle, her eyes lifting to stare at herself within the mirror before sitting up to lean on her thighs

I didn't want to disturb the woman but felt my legs walking me towards the door anyway, I pulled gently on the handle and felt butterflies erupting within my stomach the second she glanced across at me

"That was- wow, Lauren" I gasped as she lifted a palm to drag a portion of hair from off of her sweating forehead "I have never seen anything like that-
