Camila focused her eyes into the floor as she kicked a small rock against the sidewalk. Her comfy black beanie holding her hair from swishing in the gentle summer breeze. She made ways towards a coffee shop opposite the academy to meet Lena, a visit she didn't want nor need, but knew herself to attend anyway

She was content lately, her blooming relationship with Lauren offering more than a fix of pleasure, Lauren gave peace and protection, a serving of strength Camila had so far lacked. She did however notice the hole in her heart, a grieving anger that kept her mind occupied with dread

Lena noticed the girl to have denied her contact for days, texts went unanswered and calls rang through endlessly. Finally, Camila decided to meet with Lena, her want for a harmless check-in one the girl would much have preferred to go without

She swallowed a grunt as she approached the coffee shop door, her warm palm pushing through the hinges to see Lena already waiting with her arms folded and brows cocked. Camila rolled her eyes and readjusted her hair, sitting opposite the woman now sliding a cold cooler of raspberries and cream into her chest

"A peace offering" spoke Lena calmly

Camila took the drink with avoiding eyes, scrutinising the label as if not ordering the same drink every time she wondered through the dark brown doors "I'd say I'm pretty peaceful right now, but thanks"

Lena felt the resistance in Camila like a twin magnet, the force in her energy almost making her feel anxious "I'm going to guess you have been busy?" She asked "I heard about the campaign, you must have been amazing my darling"

Camila sighed with a swallow, thinking on the campaign her and Nova completed only a few days ago. The shoot was a major success, Nova looked beautiful and Camila executed her choreography with such passion even Fallon raised her stone set brows

"It was good" she admit with a push, leaning into her straw with eyes still trained against the table "Loved it"

Lena cocked a brow and tapped her manicured finger against the table "What's going on Camila?" She probed "You're not yourself today, I'd push the fact you haven't contacted me in days, but I'd rather know what has your eyes refusing to look at me"

Camila scoffed with a creeping smile "I'm all good Lena" finally she glanced up "I don't need your therapy today, I just came to prove that I was still alive!" She laughed "Your texts are a little dramatic"

"I care for you" Lena probed

"You could have given me space"

"I gave you enough!" Lena snapped back, forcing the girl to straighten in her seat "I am not here to provide you with therapy, I came to talk with you! I want to check in"

Camila took the bait and sighed reluctantly "So do it" she hissed "Ask your questions and I'll see if I can rummage for some answers!"

Lena was used to the push back by now, but something felt different this time. She lowered her eyes and took a breath "Let's talk about your parents" Lena noted the shut down in Camila's eyes, she knew to proceed with caution "I'm not here to pressure, I'm just wondering if you have tried to contact them"

The girl shook her head and laughed "Nope"

"Any reason?" Lena pushed

Camila shrugged "Why would I? It's not like they've tried either!" She giggled with a sadistic note in her tone "My whole life I put the effort in for their attention, I'm done now, if they want me, they can come find me!"

Lena decided to quickly change the subject, the girls tone far more direct than she had anticipated "What about Lauren, you two seem to be getting along famously? I hope that is still the case"
