The weekend flew by. Despite the tense situation, there were no further clashes.

This could also be due to the fact that she had not really seen Pedri or Pablo.

With Pablo it was no wonder. It took him a long time to respond to her many messages asking him if everything was all right and if Pedri was now making his life hell.

Apparently he had to struggle with how quickly the whole thing had come to light and that now probably the whole team knew about them.

However, he was doing well under the circumstances and Pedri was behaving somewhat inconspicuously.

The break would end on the first of October with a match against Mallorca and even if the focus was rather on not dropping out of the Champions League, Xavi still had certain demands on them.

It was Tuesday by now.

Cayetana sat on her couch with her legs bent. For the first time since she had landed here, the weather was not cooperating. It was raining cats and dogs.

It was almost as if nature was adapting to Cayetana's mood.

Instead of moping around all day, however, she had come up with the idea of inviting Ainoa, who fortunately had the day off and was thus happy to spend the afternoon with her.

The two girls had already baked cookies at the beginning, which were barely burnt, so they devoured with relish while the classic Titanic was playing on the TV.

It was one of Caye's favorite movies. Not only because Leonardo DiCaprio was in it, but because she was a fan of such dramas. From her point of view, it didn't always need a happy ending for a movie to be good.

"Fine, I've been here for three hours now and you haven't even mentioned him. Do you really not want to talk about it, or are you just afraid to?"

Cayetana put the cookie she had just been about to guide to her mouth back on the plate and made an inarticulate sound.

"The movie is so exciting right now. Does it have to be right now?"

"Please we've seen that one a hundred times. I know you want to talk about it. I can see it in your thoughtful expression."

Ainoa did not let go, but reached for the remote control to stop the movie.

She leaned against the back of the sofa, drew her knees to her chest, and stared at it promptly. It was clear that she would not give up until Cayetana had unpacked.

So she gave in and told her everything, not leaving out the tiniest detail, like the point at which he had put her on the kitchen island so she wouldn't step in the broken glass. His look when he saw Diego for the first time, when she tried to smuggle him out of the house, or how he had carried her to the bed and brushed her hair out of her face as if paralyzed when she had been sick.

She also recounted the negative things. The stupid sayings. The suddenly distant behavior and the way he had tried to teach her how important his career was to him.
