After not waiting too long, the announced doctor came to look at the prominent patient.

He introduced himself as Doctor Menendez and told them that he would be the contact person for the rest of the evening until Pablo would be discharged.

After that Pablo had to explain to the doctor what exactly had happened, then the doctor cut his jersey to get a picture of the injuries.

That something was wrong with the shoulder could be seen at first glance.

As expected, Pablo was picked up at a later time to be taken to the radiology where the X-rays were to be taken.

Cayetana used the time she was alone in the room to keep Ainoa informed.

However, since no diagnosis had yet been made, the time required for this was relatively short.

This left her the opportunity to think. Although it was clear to her that she had developed real feelings for him, this evening showed once again that it was doomed to fail.

Perhaps it was wrong for her to blame herself, but she felt the same way.

Pressing her lips tightly together to keep herself from biting them bloody, she sat on the chair and waited.

After what felt like an eternity, Pablo was led back into the room. He looked even paler than before, which she couldn't blame him for.

She imagined an X-ray of the thorax with a dislocated shoulder to be anything but pleasant.

As soon as he was sitting on the couch again, he was finally given the painkillers in the form of a tablet, which he swallowed immediately.

Silence returned for a few minutes.
It caused Cayetana to start gnawing on her lower lip until she felt the metallic taste of blood on her tongue.

Just as she ran the back of her hand over her lips, Dr. Menendez re-entered the room.

A tablet in hand, he settled into the swivel chair, adjusting the black glasses that somewhat concealed the dark circles around his eyes.

"I have good news. There are no bad concomitant injuries on the X-rays, nor any broken ribs. That means it's a rib contusion. Less complicated but equally painful," he began to list the facts.

A stone fell from her heart. Maybe his World Cup dream was not over yet.

Pablo's mine remained tense, however, as he listened to the doctor's words. Apparently, he still suspected a but.

"How soon can I be back on the pitch?"

Dr. Menendez exchanged a glance with Cayetana, who merely shrugged her shoulders. It was not a surprising reaction from the soccer player; she had almost expected this question.

Quite the opposite of the doctor, who cleared his throat and put the tablet down on his lap.

"Well first I have to get your shoulder back into the right position of course, then it depends on the healing process. The first week you have to rest completely and only then start slowly with some exercises. Your physiotherapists will definitely know what to do. It is estimated that you will be able to play again in a month, if you do not demand too much from your body."
