Chapter 31

Lo'ak is stood outside Gorya's room, watching as she's laying down with a couple of nurses around her.

Neteyam was also in the room.

They were watching until Lo'aks' eyes widen.

Kavin turns around, as his back leans against the wall, looking down at his feet.

"Lo'ak!" Aneysa calls out and runs towards him.

He looks at her, with guilt in his eyes.

She runs to him, being out of breath.

Aneysa then turns to look inside the room, only to see her mother laying there.

She had flatlined.

Aneysa felt as though her heart had been ripped out her chest.

She walks into the room, making Neteyam turn around, only to see Aneysa.

She looked as though she had not been sleeping enough. The dark circles around her eyes. The redness. She looked like a whole different person, despite the fact that it had only been three days that she hadn't seen him.

"Mom?" Aneysa calls out to her as she's walking to Gorya.

Her voice had cracked, whilst her eyes and soften and hade become.. confused.

Neteyam tries to keep her back but she moves his hand of her arm, without even looking at him, walking forward to Gorya.

She cups onto Gorya's cheek, "mom. I'm here. Wake up."

Gorya does not respond to her.

"I know you're mad at me, because I argued with you. I shouldn't have, mom I'm sorry. Please, wake up. Talk to me" She shakes her head lightly.

Lo'ak walks in.

"Mom please, don't do this to me" Aneysa's eyes begin to get teary.

She puts her head down, placing it over her mothers chest in hope to hear her heartbeat.

Aneysa's head knew that her mother was dead.

But her heart was in denial.

She falls to her knees slowly as she begins to sob.

"Please don't go. Don't leave me" Aneysa begins to sob.

Neytiri was sat with Kiri and Tuk only to see Kavin walk out, as he's crying.

Neytiri makes Kiri hold onto Tuk before she goes to find Gorya.

She walks down the hall, only to stop as she hears the sound of fainting sobs.

Neytiri turns her head, seeing Gorya dead, with Aneysa on the floor.

Aneysa let's out a blood-curling scream, as she holds onto her mothers face.

Her sobbing only got worse, as her heart hammers.

Lo'ak looks at Neteyam, waiting for him to comfort her or do something, but he only stood with his head down.

So Lo'ak bent down behinds her, holding onto.

"I'm sorry Aneysa. I'm so sorry" he whispers to her as he holds onto her, letting her cry into her arm.

Her tears run down uncontrollably.

Neytiri watched from outside only to then hear Tonowari's voice.

She turns and sees him with Tsireya and Aonung.

Tonowari walks towards her, looking into the room.

"Oh god" he covered his hand with his mouth, as it horrified him to see Gorya laying there, pale and no longer breathing.
