Chapter 55 - His Persistent

"I never thought boss will be this kind to throw a party in this hotel. Who could have thought that the new project will change his mind" Rohan said as he sipped his drink.

"Come on, whether it a is about a project or not, this moment is for celebration for the success of the company and as a member, I am gonna just enjoy it" Kunal raised his glass with a smile.

"What happened to you Manik? You looked bored since you stepped here" Rahul turned to look at Manik who was sitting on stool while looking at his glass aimlessly.

"Are you okay? Manik?" Kunal shook his shoulder making him startled.

"Huh? What?" Manik looked at them confused.

"We were calling you for a while but you seemed to drowning in your own thoughts. Care to tell what are you thinking about which almost spaced you out of this party mood?" Rahul raised his eyebrows.

"Nothing" Manik grabbed his glass and drank the wine.

"Slow down, you will chock on your own drink" Kunal frowned. "Manik to be honest you look disturbed. Are you going to tell us what's happening to you? Don't get us worried. You know we are your friends" Kunal said frowning.

"There is nothing you can help" Manik sighed. His mind were drifting towards the words Nandini said to him. He could not forget those angry eyes, accusing him for million sins he had done. He couldn't help but sigh again. "Fuck my life is so messed up. And I am the reason behind it" he suddenly cursed.

Rahul and Kunal looked at each other confused. They couldn't understand what happened to Manik.

"I know what happened to him" another man joined the conversation. He placed his wine glass on the table. Arjun looked at Manik, "well, that happened to him" he pointed towards the far corner where few girls were standing and chatting. Kunal and Rahul looked at his way.

"Nandini?" Kunal asked.

Arjun nodded, "yeah, Nandini happened to him" he pointed to Manik. "This guys proposed her in the restaurant hoping to clear all the misunderstanding they had between them but the plan backfired and she become more angry" Arjun narrated, "though I couldn't say he was right because this man reall had the nerve to hurt her"

"She was that angry?" Rahul frowned.

"You won't believe. You guys should be there to watch it. I never thought Nandini who Saturday silent most of the time will be that wild and feisty. My god, she slapped him hard enough to leave marks and man the anger she showered I really want to thank God I haven't offended any girl" Arjun shook his head. He still couldn't forget Nandini's attitude after hearing Manik's word. She was so fierce and wild that he couldn't imagine marrying a girl now.

"Woah, wait. I am not understanding anything here. Care to share some details?" Kunal asked.

"I don't know everything so I will tell you what I understand hearing their conversation. So it was like that-"

"Don't you guys have other works than gossiping like girls?" Manik glared at them. "My private matter is not something to gossip about. So refrain yourself before I break your noses"

Arjun rolled his eyes "come on Manik, you don't want other know about you but look at yourself first. Do you think we feel happy seeing you like that? You man really need to find a solution for yourself. Whether make her yours or let her go. Do one thing and spare us from seeing that look of yours which is not appreciated at all"

Manik sighed "look I am trying, what can I do when she refuse the see me?"

"If she is refusing then it means you are not trying hard enough. Look man though I don't know much about this girl thing but I know if you try hard she will understand. I know it's hard to forget the hurtful past but time heals, just show your sincerity and she will understand. Even if you have to be little shameless in the process then he it" Rahul said.

Manik frowned at him "since when you have become this experienced about relationship?"

Rahul grinned "come on man, I am not experienced but yeah, I do understand some things. Same situation happened with my sister so I can say I am a witnessed" he shrugged.

"Whatever you said do have a point" Manik turned his head and looked at side.

"Nandini drink this" Samara handed a glass, "I know you don't like  drinking much so I brought you juice"

"Thanks" Nandini nodded and suddenly felt a piercing gaze on her back. She don't need to turn her head to see who it was. She could guess it clearly.

"Oh my god, CFO is looking at you. He looked like he was about to eat you alive"  Samara glanced behind her.

"Don't look at him. You better focus on yourself" Nandini hissed.

"Why are you glaring at me?" Samara rolled her eyes. "I haven't done anything wrong. If you want to scold someone then go and scold him directly" Samara flipped her hair and left.

Nandini sighed shaking her head. She don't know what to do. After hearing about his past her heart was still hurt. He compared her with his past lover. That was the most hurtful thing. She could never trust him nor forgive him. The party went good, after the little enjoyment finally everyone left the party.

Nandini opened the door of her apartment but suddenly felt presence behind her. She abruptly turned around only to let out a sigh. After calming down herself she glared at the person.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I want to talk to you, please"

She shook her head "there's nothing to talk. I suggest you to leave before I call the security" she warned.

"You can call them if you want but I won't leave until we talk"

Nandini gritted her teeth "do what you want" she glared and turned around before walking inside her apartment and closed the door. She sighed and leaned on the door.

Later that night Nandini woke up when she heard the thundering sound. She was startled and looked towards the window. Rain was pouring hard with lighting. She huffed and couldn't help but feel restless. She moved the duvet and walked towards the window and looked outside. Her eyes widened when she looked at the person sitting on bench at the gate. He was soaking and almost shivering. Nandini's heart trembled at the sight and she clenched her fist. She never thought he could be this stubborn. But how could she let him sit like this in the rain? If something happened to him then what will she do. She don't want him to get sick because of her.

Manik was sitting on the bench shivering. The rain was hard and he don't know how long he could endure. Suddenly he saw a pair of legs. He looked up to see Nandini was standing holding an umbrella. He smiled at her.

"Get up. You will get sick of you sit here" she said emotionlessly.

Manik got up and looked at her. Before he could speak anything he sneezed hard. Nandini rolled her eyes.

"Let's go inside" she said and he nodded before following her inside. The thunder sounded again with a lightning before before it turned black again.
