Chapter 65 - True Friends

Nandini didn't join her work immediately but after staying two days alone in her apartment she finally decided to go to the company next day. These two days she has given a good thought over the matter. She tried to think everything from every side. Her mother called her several times but she didn't replied her calls. She switched off her phone and stayed alone.

When she walked into her department she saw Samara was there alone typing something in her keyboard. She was so focused on the computer screen that she didn't noticed Nandini walking in. Hearing some noises Samara looked up and saw Nandini placed her bag on the desk. She was surprised to see her there.

"Nandini, you are really here" Samara got up and walked to her instantly. "my god, I was worried and thought something has happened to you. I tried to call you but your phone was off. Is everything alright?"

Nandini looked at her and nodded slightly, "I am fine"

"Where have you been?" Samara sighed. "You were absent from three days that even boss asked about you"

"It was something emergency, I had to leave for home. The call was so sudden and I couldn't inform anyone" Nandini replied as she sat down. "Is there any new project?"

"Not yet but boss said there will be new one. It will be about a new product launch. Maybe next month I guess, but it's still not confirmed yet" Samara shook her head. She observed Nandini was looking at her computer screen aimlessly. She frowned slightly and tap on her shoulder.

"Nandini are you fine? You look too distressed" Samara couldn't help but frown.

Nandini heaved a sigh before saying in low tone "my marriage is fixed"

Samara who was frowning almost jumped in shock. What did she just heard? Nandini getting married?

"Wha....what did you say?" She couldn't help but ask one more time to confirm.

Nandini turned her head to look at her "I am getting married"

"Ho....how?" Samara almost slapped herself to get out of the confusion, "I mean when did that happened?" Samara asked then suddenly a thought came into her mind "wait, you were called back urgently because of this matter?"

Nandini didn't say anything but looked at her confirming her words. Samara shook her head again. What's happening?

"Have you met them?" She asked again.

"Yeah" Nandini nodded.

"How's it?"

"Good, the groom is US return, he has a business there and after marriage he wants to take me along with him. They has money, reputation, power - everything that a girl could ask for" Nandini replied.

"Do you want to get married?" Samara asked. "What they has is not important. The matter is whether you want it or not. At the end, you can't eat money, nor find happiness in reputation nor you could spend your whole life holding the power"

Nandini smiled bitterly "does that matter? It's not like I have any choice. They didn't even asked about it. They directly fixed the marriage"

"What the hell?" Samara yelled groaning loudly.

"What's happening?" Yadav walked in frowning. The first thing he saw Samara's angry face.

"Nandini's marriage is fixed" Samara replied with annoyance.

"What? Really?" Yadav frowned, "I mean that fast? You are still young and could stay single for many years. Why so rush?"

"Who knows? I don't know what parents this days thinks?" Samara raised her hand in the air getting frustrated. "I can understand that they are our parents and could decide things about our life yet marriage is something important for life. It's about life time matter. How can they just choose a random guy whom they thinks good and they don't even ask about the consent. At least I think before getting over there they should ask if their children is ready to take that step. Is it that hard for them to ask a simple question do you want to get married  first?"
