You have a hard time breathing. Are you still drowning? At least you can't be dead yet based on how much your warm body is hurting. During your attempt to move, you notice that your left hand squeezes someone else's. Opening up your eyes, you see a familiar face framed with golden locks.
Aether's expression brightens up upon seeing you awake. "(Y/N)! Everything is fine, you're safe now."
Safe? That sounds nice... Everything around Fontaine must be resolved then. That means there is nothing to stop you from sleeping a little longer... You close your eyes, ready to continue your nap, but then you remember something. Aether saying that you are safe has absolutely nothing to do with the safety of Fontaine. This guy could walk out of a destroyed nation and not care at all as long as you were fine. A... concerning personality trait, though he still remains your close friend.
Worried by that thought, you snap back to reality and sit up straight. You are in a regular bed in a regular bedroom. To your left is Aether and in your lap is Rosa. Other than that... there are a couple of familiar members from the House of Hearth around - Lyney, Lynette, Freminet and even Arlecchino herself. "S-so-" Noticing that your voice is extremely hoarse, you try to clear your throat, but without success. Seems like that cold finally caught up with you. "Does that mean that everything is fine now? Even the flood and all?" Did anyone even hear your question when you speak so quietly?
It appears so since Lyney answers you. "Yes, everything is fine - maybe aside from a few individuals like yourself, but the crisis itself is over."
You tilt your throbbing head. "What do mean by 'a few individuals like myself'...?"
"First of all, you have a pretty bad cold with a fever. In addition to that, you have that massive stab wound in your shoulder. Considering that you were perfectly fine less than 24 hour ago, that's quite an impressive decline health-wise. ...You feel all of that, right?", explains Lynette. In contrast to her usual indifferent face, she seems actually worried right now.
Thinking about it, you do feel what she means. Your body is warmer than usually, your voice is shít and your shoulder is uncomfortably numb. Yet, you wouldn't call your condition all too bad - you feel surprisingly decent given the circumstances. "My body doesn't feel great, yes, though I think I can move around just fine."
In her dim corner, Arlecchino sighs. "Regardless if you can or not, I advise against moving around too much. Public spaces are a taboo for you anyways at the moment, so do yourself a favor and rest."
"And why is that...?"
"Aether might have managed to pull himself out of the noose temporarily, but his offense still remains. Once the chaos was resolved, Monsieur Neuvillette declared an arrest warrant on the missing Traveler and for good measure also on you. So if you value your freedom, avoid the public eye." You can hear how the Knave's nails tap against the wooded wall behind her.
Exhaling sharply, you roll your eyes. "Not again... Wasn't the warrant in Inazuma enough..."
Lyney crosses his arms. "Well, you can thank Aether for that one."
This comment earns the magician a threatening glare from your travel companion. "Shut it, I had my reasons in contrast to you. If it weren't for you Fatuis, we both would have been spared a lot of troubles."
"Oh?" Lyney's smiling face darkens. "Might I remind you that if it weren't for my brother Freminet over there our lovely (Y/N) wouldn't be around anymore? If he hadn't found them in time, they would have drowned. Not to mention that we are the ones keeping the likes of Neuvillette and Wriothesely off of your throat at the moment."
