Danny's POV
Wow, what an amazing show. The audience was really quiet at first, but then during For The First Time and Hall Of Fame they all came to life. Besides this girl from Twitter though, she was great. I spotted her almost immediately. I'll admit after Glen DMed her I went online for once and checked out her profile, looked at her pictures and stuff. When it comes to Twitter I can be a quite the creeper. I'm usually not that active at all, a few tweets sometimes and a few favs, but I usually scroll through a few times a day to stay in touch. As I'm standing here kinda daydreaming and thinking about the show I can see people starting to walk out of the auditorium now. But the Twitter girl is staying behind to see us. And yeah I call her the Twitter girl for now, I really don't know her name yet. Well it's up on Twitter, but I wanna ask her myself instead, just to make it more personal.
"Hey lads! You were great, all my friends liked it even though they were not fans before, and they're now! And thank you so much for wanting to meet me after." She looked at Glen and smiled. I was for once staying in the back not really speaking, thinking of something to say to her.
"Sure no problem! We're just happy we at least have some fans here, and thanks for wanting to meet us crazy lads." Glen said while hugging her tightly, almost like a brother.
"Now Glenny, let the ginger speak! How are ye? Nice to meet ye, and thanks for making yer friends love us, BOOM!" Then Mark hugged her as well. I guess I had to come up with something to say now. Just don't make a fool of yourself and start the flirting right away...
"Hello gorgeous! Really nice to meet you! I saw you had a good time during the show am I right?" I said nervously as I walked up to her pulling her in for a hug that she gladly responded to. I didn't let her go as fast as I usually did with hugs and the lads picked up on that, clearly. As I slowly pulled away I could see the both of them smirking in the corner of my eyes and some whispers between them as well.
"Aww thanks, I'm just happy to finally get to see you perform live and also meet you! Would you mind if we took some pictures?" She asked us nicely.
"Of course love, come right here next to me love." Wow, nice choice of words there. Glen and Mark seemed to have picked up on that as well as they were on the verge of laughing, but they managed to keep it to themselves, at least she isn't bothered by it. She happily walked towards me and took her phone out of her pocket. I told Mark to be the photographer so she could get some real shots, not just selfies.
"What's your name love? Didn't really get to ask you earlier." She giggled a bit and smiled at me while putting her hand out for me to shake.
"It's Lauren, I'm 18 and this is my last year at this school, thank god."
"So what do ye wanna do after high school?" Mark kept the conversation going asking her questions, I came with a few sentences as well, but now I just really wanted to sit back a little and listen. She was a really interesting person. She told us that she wanted to move out of England to study, her first choice was Dublin. A great city, if I were her I would choose that. The Irish people are very polite and I know she would definitely find some friends really quickly.
"Why exactly do ye want to move from the UK to study? Schools here are just as good as anywhere else, if not better." Glen asked her. I completely agree. If she could go to a school of the same quality or maybe even better why would she want to move? But I'm not complaining though, Dublin is a great place.
"Well, it's kinda a long story, and quite depressing as well. But yeah I just wanna get away you know? Sometimes life gets hard and things happen that you just can't explain cause you don't understand it yourself. And I just think that it's better for me if I just move away for some time and get away from everything, start over." Wow, I had no idea this was coming. She looked a bit upset telling us about it, something was definitely not right, but I wasn't gonna push my luck and ask her about it. If she would want to tell us she would have, I gotta have some respect for that. I just easily pulled her to me for a reassuring hug.
"Aw it's gonna be okay love, I'm sure you'll do great wherever you decide to go." Glen and Mark laid each of their hands on her shoulder as well. I just kept holding her until she was ready to let go herself. If there's something I've learned is that when you hug someone, make sure they are the ones who let go of you first, you'll never know how much the person needs it.
She pulled back and smiled at us. "Thank you guys so much. This has been a dream come true, really. To just meet you all and sit down and talk. I think that's basically what everyone in the fan base wants". She giggled again and I could help smile at her.
'Yeah might be. At least when the year's finished you can do exactly what you want!' I beamed.
"Dan's right, wow that's a first.... Well everything will be okay. Soon you'll be out there alone and able to do exactly what ye want and no one can stop ye, if ye wanna travel the world then do it!" Glen was just about to say more of his wise words when Mark decided to comment.
"And if ye wanna get drunk and be a normal teenager then I can teach ye to drink properly!" Typical Mark.
Lauren's POV
"Mark, seriously, she's only 18!" Glen said to Mark. As if I had never had a drink before, no one here cares anyways. And 18 is a legal age to drink and do whatever.
"Yeah I know that, she's probably already started anyways!" I started laughing at this, making Danny chuckle as well as he looked shyly at me. I smiled back at him and I'm pretty sure I saw him blush a bit before he turned his head to the lads. They definitely noticed the same as me and gave him a look which he obviously ignored. The lads chuckled at him and gave me a look as well. I did the same as Danny and just ignored it, it was probably just nothing anyways.
"Don't you worry about that guys, I can take care of myself, been doing it more or less all my life" I told them while putting my arms around Mark and Glen's shoulders while Danny was standing in front grinning.
'Did anything happen?' Danny asked worried. I felt a bit overwhelmed by this and just shrugged my shoulders as I felt my eyes water. I didn't wanna tell them just how I felt about everything just yet, or maybe never actually. I wasn't comfortable with that at all. They were just strangers to me. Of course they were my idols and their music's been helping me, but it't not enough. I need to know where I have them later on and I need to trust the people first. Somehow I believe Danny knew that, or at least he understood that I didn't want to discuss it. He gave me a sad, but comforting smile and placed a hand on my shoulder, at least that brightened my mood a little bit. We stood here talking for a bit longer, just about what I'm gonna do later and how I liked the show. After staying here for about 30 minutes I suddenly remembered that I still have classes today even though the lads are here.
"Well lads, I think it's time I leave now, unfortunately. I would have loved to stay and continue all this, but I don't think my teacher would be happy if I ditched another class for this. I really need to try to keep up in class. Good thing you'll get rid of me now, you probably have more important stuff to do." I really didn't want to leave but I didn't want to bother them more either, they were probably tired of having me here.
"Aw leaving so soon? We would have loved to have ye here for a while longer, but I guess ye have to get to class." Mark and Glen came towards me to give me a hug. They both pulled me in and I got a last picture with each of them, all taken by Danny. Danny came towards me to give me a hug too.
"Don't worry love, we'll keep in touch okay?" He whispered in my ear as he leaned in for the hug. I nodded at him and smiled before pulling away for a last photograph. I waved goodbye to the lads and walked away toward the stairs.
I stopped at the stairs just standing there completely numb and shocked. What did just happen? I met my idols, and most importantly, I didn't make a fool of myself. I sat down and talked to them for an entire class, guessing my teacher wouldn't be happy with that but who the hell cares. I also got hugs and pictures with all of them. And Danny. What can I say? He was really sweet, like the rest of them, still there was something pulling me towards him. I have no idea what, but I decided not to think so much about it as we would probably not meet again. Or would we? He did whisper 'Don't worry love, we'll keep in touch okay?' to me. I had no idea what that meant, but I wasn't complaining, not at all. It was all I have ever dreamed of really. Maybe we could even have little talks every once in a while or a tweet or two. Just that would make me incredibly happy. The only thing I can do is hope for the best and wait and see what's next for me.
Next chapter: Lauren gets noticed by the lads once again, but things will start to escalate.
