Lauren's POV
I woke up in the morning from the smell of fresh cooked breakfast. Well I'm not a fan of breakfast at all, but since my parents have already made it I got dressed and went downstairs to join them.
'Morning.' My dad said as I came into the kitchen and sat down at the table.
'Morning dad.' I replied.
'And how are you feeling?' My mom asked.
'Good.'
'And?' He continued asking.
'Well I'm good. What else did you expect?' I answered puzzled.
'Just wondering.'
'Okay then.' I said as I took some food into my plate. I filled my glass with water and started eating in silence as my parents kept talking. Honestly, I wasn't good at all. I really didn't feel like getting out of bed, at all. The only thing keeping me from not staying in bed all day is the fact that my parents would come into my room asking me how I feel or tell me what to do or how to deal with it at least one time each hour. That is something I really couldn't handle so instead I got up and as needed them before I could escape back into my room again, at least for some time. I still had a party to go to tonight with my friends, which meant I had to find something to wear and get ready in a few hours as it was nearly noon now and I had to be at Sophie's house at 6 for some dinner with the other girls before many more arrived for a party later. It would be a long night and I would probably be tired tomorrow so I might as well start packing my suitcases now. I was going back to Dublin on the 2nd of January as school started again on the 4th. I wasn't really looking forward to it, especially not going back to Dublin as all my friends were here and going back meant I had to leave them, for now.
I started packing all of my clothes that I didn't need here plus some more stuff I had left behind here when I moved. When I was going home this holiday I had to bring an extra suitcase for the presents as well as I had some clothes packed in my bag that I brought on the plane. Since I wasn't taking all of them back home I could fit some more stuff from my room along with the presents I got. I mostly got stuff for the apartment and money, which I both needed very much. Other than the fact that Danny and I broke up this Christmas hasn't been that bad, not at all. Being away has made me actually miss my family a bit, or some of them. One of them really. I was really starting to look forward to going away again after spending over a week with them now.
When I finished packing it was nearly 3pm and I still had about an hour and a half to get ready. In the meantime I just flipped down on my bed and took out my phone. I noticed that Sophie had texted me a while ago but I hadn't noticed. I always used the do not disturb mode on my phone so when people called I didn't notice and same with texts and everything else. I used to have that mode on during the night and when I was at school, but I usually forgot to turn it off so I kept it all day. Still when I was on holiday I used that mode which kinda annoyed people, but they were used to me not answering at first anyways so I guess they wouldn't get hurt. I unlocked my phone and read the text from Sophie.
'Heyy we're all looking forward to seeing you and Danny again! So glad you'll be able to come, we miss you here 🎉❤️' Oh shit...Reality just hit me. I hadn't told my friends that Danny and I weren't together anymore. I have texted them and called them but none of us has mentioned Danny at all so I just forgot, which was great, but now they still believed he was coming tonight. We had planned to spend Christmas with our families and then we would spend New Year's Eve together in Edenbridge. He was supposed to fly down earlier today and stay here so we could go back to Dublin together, but obviously that wasn't happening now.
