Lauren's POV

'Ye ready to go?' Danny asked as the clock showed almost 6pm. We were gonna be at Danny's mothers house in 20 minutes for dinner. Andi and her children were gonna be there too as well as Mandy and Vicky. I hadn't really met the two of them before, I've only spotted them in a grocery store before and said hi. Dan had showed me pictures before so I did recognize them, but today would be the first day meeting them. Only one of Danny's brothers lived in Dublin, but he couldn't make it today as he had to go work extra and his wife had to stay home with one of the kids who was sick. The other brother lived in Australia and obviously couldn't be there either. I was looking forward to meeting all of them, at least those who were there. The others would come along sometime.

'Yeah, just gonna close the books and clear the table first.'

'I'll just go wait outside the building, yer locking up right?' Danny shouted from the hallway.

'Yeah, I'll be right down.' I left a mark in my books and closed them. I placed them nicely on the breakfast bar in the kitchen and grabbed the apartment key. I put my shoes on and grabbed a coat. I locked the apartment and met Danny outside of the apartment building. He had managed to get us a taxi and we both got in and took off.

'Yer okay?' Danny asked after a few more minutes in silence.

'Oh yeah, I'm just a bit tired after school and reading today, and I'm hungry.'

'At least we're getting some food soon...So school was good today?'

'Yeah it was okay, not great, but okay. Learning new stuff every day. Next year we're gonna do more practical stuff in class and not just sit in the auditorium all day listening to the teacher. It's getting kinda boring already.'

'Going to school isn't supposed to be fun ye know.' Danny chuckled making me sigh.

'I know...I just wish I didn't feel like dying each time the teacher walks in the room.'

'Well that would be good. I prefer having you alive for a while longer.'

'At least I try.'

'I know, yer doing great Laurs. Yer gonna be a great nurse, I'm proud of you.' He said pulling me into his side and kissing my cheek.

'Thank you. At least it will be to your advantage. When you're 80 years old and lazy I'll still be a nurse.'

'Never saw it that way, but now that you mention it...You're 63 when I'm 80, so yer gonna be the grumpy and pissed off nurse that yells at all the new ones.' He started laughing, I followed after.

'Hahaha! That's gonna be me for sure. I'm kinda already doing that to all the people around me though.' I said laughing. We both sat laughing for a while before the driver pulled up outside the house. Danny handed the driver money and we got out and knocked on the door.

'Auntie Lauren!' Andi's daughters beamed as they opened the door for us.

'Hey what about me?!' Danny asked them and picked them up and spun them around. The girls laughed and tried to fight him as he put them down again.

'Sorry uncle Danny, but we like her better.' Danny pouted making the girls chuckle.

'Don't worry girls, he's just being childish.'

'We know. Mommy says he never really grew up.' I stared chuckling at the girls and looked over at Danny who was still pouting.

'You know, its true Dan.' I mocked him. The girls laughed again and went inside again.
