C h a p t e r 23

Lauren's POV

I woke up to the sound of the alarm. I slowly opened my eyes and just for a moment I forgot where I was. I looked around and noticed Dan sleeping beside me. He was a heavy sleeper and hadn't woken up from the alarm, what a surprise. I took a few moments to admire him sleeping. He looked so happy and calm. I really didn't want to wake him up just yet. I slowly got out of bed and went into the bathroom. I pulled out the bun and put my hair in a ponytail before brushing my teeth. Then I walked over to my bed again where Danny was still asleep. I laid down next to him and decided to wake him up. I slowly leaned in and kissed him. He started to stir but didn't wake up completely so I kissed him once again. This time he moved his arm around me and pulled me closer.

'Morning Laurs.' He mumbled between kisses.

'Good morning.' I replied.

'I like waking up like this. A perfect start to the day.' Dan said. I pulled him even closer. He turned on his side so he was now almost on top of me.

'Me too. Unfortunately I think we have to get up now. It's breakfast soon.' I tried pulling away but he held me back.

'We got time Laurs, 5 more minutes of this please?' Danny begged looking at me with the biggest puppy eyes I've seen so far. Once again I was not capable of resisting those eyes. I placed my hands on the back of his neck and leaned up to kiss him. I traced my left arm from the back of his neck, over his shoulder and down to his back. His right hand was now resting on my hip as we continued kissing. He slipped his hand at the bottom of my back and pulled me closer while I did the same. He was now lying on top of me. I moved my right hand from his neck and to the back of his head where I tugged at his hair. He let out a small moan and I deepened the kiss. His tongue now traced the bottom of my lip. I opened my mouth slightly and he slipped his tongue in. I let out a quiet moan and he moved his hand further down so it was now resting on my bum. I could feel myself getting more and more heated from this and it was clear Danny was too.

'I think we better get up now.' I pulled away from his kiss.

'Yeah okay.' He let go of me and I got out of bed to get changed. I picked out my uniform and went to the bathroom and changed. When I was finished Dan was still in bed.

'You gonna get up soon?' I joked. He smirked back at me and chuckled.

'Yeah just go down, I'll just sort myself first.' He said still not getting out of the bed. It was now clear he wanted me out of the room first. I guess our little moment got a bit more heated than it should have.

'Yeah sure, just do whatever you need to do and then we'll eat.' Way to go Lauren, make this slightly more awkward. He smirked once again and I left the room. I met my mom downstairs in the kitchen. She was halfway finished setting the kitchen table for dinner. I helped her set the rest while she watched the pan. For us it was rare having breakfast like this in the morning. Usually we would just eat breakfast whenever we wanted to. It was much easier when I had work and she went out. My dad wasn't home at the moment. He was working a lot and he would normally work two weeks away and then a few weeks home. Now he had taken some extra work so he would be gone for about 3 weeks. I was pretty used to this as it's been like this since before I was born, way before I was born. I didn't really mind it at all. I never had that much contact with him either so it wasn't bothering me at all. 

'Did you sleep well?' Mom asked.

'Yeah I did. It got a bit late with the movie last night though so I'm a bit tired, but I guess I can just relax after work this afternoon.'

'That's understandable. Is Danny coming down soon?'

'Yeah he was just in the bathroom when I went down. I think he'll be out soon.' I sat down at the kitchen table and poured myself a cup of tea. Moments later Dan came walking into the kitchen.
