C h a p t e r 8

Lauren's POV

I slowly woke up and felt an arm laying across my stomach. I didn't dare opening my eyes yet. I already knew who and why the arm was where it was. I could still hear Danny asleep beside me, or almost on top of me really. I decided not to move so I wouldn't risk waking him up. I knew I had to wake him up at some point anyways, it was nearly time for him to pack his bags, which meant he had to get up really soon. Glen had told me a few stories about Danny yesterday while Dan and Mark did their drunk talks. Glen was really nice and he he was a great listener too. I told him a bit about my life, some things I've not shared with anyone, not Danny either. He just sat there listening giving me encouraging words, what a nice guy. I wish more people was like him really. He wasn't all just serious talks about life and feelings, he could come up with some pretty great stories which were either embarrassing or hilarious too, he wasn't afraid to say what he wanted or his opinion on things either. He did talk a bit about Danny as well. Or not just a bit, mostly when he told stories he mentioned Danny, which I didn't really mind at all. From what I've learned from that he is not a morning person, especially not after drinking the night before. Waking him up this early so he could finish his least favorite thing, packing, is probably not gonna be easy.

'Danny, you have to get up now.' I removed his arm from my stomach and stepped out of bed. I've been lying awake for 1 hour just waiting for Danny to sleep a bit longer in hope that he wouldn't wake up very grumpy. He slurred a little and changed to his side promising to get up soon. I collected my clothes and went to the bathroom to change into my own clothes again. As much as I enjoyed using his t-shirt, it was time to get ready and get out of here. As I was walking out of the bathroom I spotted Dan without a single item of clothing on in the middle of the room. I quickly covered my eyes and turned around, this was not expected at all.

'Seriously Danny?! You couldn't wait until the bathroom was free?' I heard him chuckle behind me. 'Danny, this is not funny! Imagine you were in my shoes right now, walking out of the bathroom at 9am to this site of you standing there patiently looking at me!'. This just made him laugh even more.

'Sorry Laurs, I thought ye were gonna be in there for a while longer. Yer a girl you know, yer supposed to spend a long time in the bathroom in the mornings. I thought I had a chance to get changed before you came out, but I honestly didn't!' Danny replied not shy or regretful at all. He just shrugged it off basically, like it was normal.

'Well, not all girls spend that much time in the bathroom. I think you spend longer than me doing your hair.'

'That's a possibility, but you must admit it looks flawless!' Normal Dan comment, anything to get some ego boost in the morning.

'Ugh, less bragging, get dressed now please!' You're probably wondering why I'm rushing him to get dressed right now. I didn't expect to do that either, less is more you know? But yeah, it was totally unexpected and I was not prepared for it. I haven't known him for that long either, and it wasn't exactly a situation I was comfortable with. Just sleeping in the same bed as him or even being alone in this hotel room was uncomfortable for me, but I still did it and that was enough for now.

The reason I was uncomfortable with this was probably because I didn't quite know what I felt. I saw him as a friend for now. A really good friend. Danny is truly an amazing person and any girl in the world would be crazy to push him away. I was just not sure if I was ever capable of loving someone or accept the fact that someone loves me back. If Danny even had feelings for me I would not know how to respond to that. I am scared of the fact that it might happen. I know I'm not ready for any relationship of any kind at the moment. My life is a mess right now and bringing someone else into this mess wouldn't be right for anyone.
