Lauren's POV
Today is finally (for some) Christmas eve, the day most of us have been waiting for the past year. A day where we all can get together and be a family. For me this is obviously not a wanted situation. I would give everything right now just to get away. Spending a whole vacation here with my family is not even an option for me. Even though this is a family holiday, the only people I wanted close right now were the lads and my best friends, the ones who actually make me feel better or even good at all. The lads were probably busy with their families today, but I decided to send them a quick tweet anyways.
'Happy Christmas eve @thescript @thescript_danny! Enjoy your time w/ ur families today, a well-deserved break! See you soon ish, hopefully ;)' I had no intentions that they answered the way they did. I just wanted a small conversation out of this, it could hopefully save me from my family for a while.
'Mentioned by @thescript: Merry Christmas Laurs!! We'll see ye real soon, promise 😉' Okay, now I was excited, again!
'Mentioned by @thescript_danny: Damn right we'll see ya soon! Just wait for it ;)' Okay now I was just left clueless. I knew Dan was big on surprises, but I had no idea what he was saying right now.
'@thescript @thescript_danny Okay this is not funny, just tell me pls! I'll give you all a present, and Dan, you can have a cake too 😏' Danny was a sucker for presents and cake, no way he could turn this down, or what?
'Mentioned by @thescript_danny: I'll take the cake please lol jk. You'll find out.' Well thanks for that Dan. And as you can probably tell, not letting anyone know I've become friends with the lads kinda failed a bit. We do send some tweets to each other and it's not like the tweets are hidden either. People do see it and some also comment on it and tweet me about it. I just tell them we're friends and that's it really. If they ask about them or anything I just ignore it or say it's not my place to tell. I do respect their private life a lot and I know they wouldn't want everything shared on social media. Some things are just meant to be kept quiet. Some things are not though. Like today where no one's told me anything, as usual. I have no idea what's happening today to be honest. We don't do the same each christmas so this year's celebration is still unclear to me. My parents and my siblings probably know though, so there were very big chances that we are going somewhere or getting visitors. I just wish they could start telling me stuff like that. Not just shouting at me 5 mins before we leave that I need to get ready to leave the house. I'm guessing this year it won't be any different.
'Lauren! Your sister and her kids is coming over today for dinner! Can you help?!' As predicted, I didn't know about this at all. Also I hated my sister and her kids. They were all just plain obnoxious. Well this Christmas is looking great so far. I just hope that after we've opened the presents tonight they can all just leave me alone for the rest of the night. And yes, we do open the presents on Christmas Eve. It's a tradition we have from Scandinavia. Apparently my grandma's parents were from there. On Christmas Eve over there they all eat together and open presents after. My family have always done it this way. I could not imagine opening presents in the morning the day after. I just don't find anything cozy about sitting half asleep opening presents in the morning, especially when you can do it in the evening. You know when you have sleepovers with your friends and the night is always more fun than the mornings? I feel like it's the same here. Opening presents is just way cozier at night when it's much colder outside and we're all in a good mood. I'm glad my family has decided to keep this tradition here as well.
'Yeah sure. What's Kirsten going to do though?' I asked stepping into the kitchen where my mother and my sister was sitting. My dad was probably changing or something, maybe even watching TV. I don't really know and I don't really care either.
