Lauren's POV

I was finally done at school for today. I had been there since 8am and now I'm on my way home again. I had texted Danny during my last lesson today so we decided to meet in a park. First I needed to change into something warmer. We would probably be walking around the city and it was really cold outside. The walk bak home didn't take that long as soon I was on my way out again to meet Danny. The thought of him gave me the butterflies, easily. As I was thinking about him I caught myself smiling like an idiot each time and my cheeks burned. I continued walking down the streets to the park smiling to myself like I've just fallen in love with him. We met almost 1,5 years ago and from that moment I have had feelings for him. I might have denied it at first, but then it just became so strong I just couldn't. Now I was happy to say I loved him, with all my heart.

'Laurs!' Danny beamed as I spotted him in the park. I waved back at him and started walking faster towards him.

'Heyy.' I said as I opened my arms pulling him in for a hug. He tightened the grip around me and kissed my cheek as we both pulled away.

'So how did school go?' He asked as we sat down at a bench.

'It was okay. Did learn some new stuff that I have to read about, but other than that it wasn't anything special really.'

'That's good, and yer soon finished with yer first year.' Danny said.

'So looking forward to that. Only two years left.'

'Wow, time flies.' Danny said shaking his head. He was right. Time did really fly. This year has moved so fast.

'It really does. Can you believe we've already known each other for 1,5 years?'

'I had no idea it was that long. If feels like yesterday to be honest. The day I spotted you in that crowd and met you after with the lads.'

'Best day of my life. The day I met you.'

'And also the day I met you.' Danny said smiling. We both looked at each other sitting on the bench closely to each other. Danny moved a bit closer taking my hand in his and squeezed it lightly.

'Amazing how far we've come from that isn't it?' Danny asked.

'Yeah it is.' I said as he was leaning in closer. His eyes switched focus from my lips and eyes. As his lips was inches from mine I turned my head and pulled away. As he noticed he instantly turned his head and moved a bit on the bench.

'Sorry....' He sighed not wanting to look me in the eyes. I saw the hurt in his face and to be honest, it hurt me to. Of course I wanted to take this further but I wasn't there yet.

'Dan...' I moved closer to him and squeezed his hand in comfort.

'Laurs it's fine. I pushed my luck with this, just forget it.' He said letting go of my hand still not looking at me. I sighed and nodded. We sat a few minutes in silence taking glances at each other from time to time. I really didn't know what else to say to him. It was way too soon for anything like that for sure, but still... I couldn't forget it. I wanted it so bad, but my mind just pushed the whole idea of it away.

'Want any coffe?' Danny asked after a while, finally looking at me again. I still saw the hurt in his eyes.

'I still don't drink coffe Dan.' I chuckled earning a smile from him.

'Right I forgot, hot chocolate then? Or tea?'

'Hot chocolate sounds good. Let's go.' I said standing up from the bench stretching out my hand for him to grab. He did just that and was about to let go of my hand as he stood up from the bench, but I squeezed it tighter as we started walking.
