C h a p t e r 34

Lauren's POV

'Please put this on.' Danny said giving me a blindfold as we got out of the taxi outside his apartment building. Today was my 19th birthday and not surprising at all, Danny had something planned. I wasn't really a big fan of surprises at all, but seeing him so happy and eager about this was so cute I just couldn't argue with him so I just played along and pretended to be as excited as he was about this. Birthdays and holidays wasn't exactly my favorite days of the year. I'm more of a quiet and calm person who isn't at all about celebrating. If I could skip a birthday I would say yes in less than a second. Now that I'm with Danny I guess this has to change. As mentioned earlier he loved these kinds of stuff.

'Dan, what are you doing? You know I don't like this.' I said with pleading eyes.

'Laurs, please. Put it on. Do it for me.' He said walking up to me and placing his hands low on my back moving closer and closer. He leaned down to give me a kiss, I thought. Just before his lips were on mine he pulled away making me pout. He just smirked at me holding up the blindfold knowing if I were to get that kiss later I had to do this for him. Oh well, how bad could it be...

'Okay, help me put it on.' I said accepting the blindfold putting it in front of my eyes. Danny tied it in the back and guided me carefully into the building. In the back of my mind I had the thought that he was gonna mess with me and do some shitty prank, but I chose to trust him on this.

'Be careful now Laurs, we're going into the apartment.' He said. I lifted my feet slightly higher not to trip. I made sure to hold his hand tightly not to lose him.

'Stand over here Laurs.' Danny said letting go of my hand. He loosened the blindfold but still kept it in front of my eyes.

'Ready?' He asked. I nodded and he removed the blindfold.

'SURPRISE!' I looked around me and saw my closest friends, my family and some of Danny's family standing in the living room of his apartment throwing confetti.

'Oh wow you did really well.' I said kissing Danny's cheek and went to go greet all the people. Danny had really put in effort for this. Mark and Glen were here. So was Andi and Ailish with Dan's nieces, Sophie and Layla. My mom and dad were here too, not my sisters luckily. I think Danny knew I would not have her here, any of the siblings really. Also he had brought Sophie, Cassidy and Joanna here, Susana, Jules, Elise and Kate were here too.

'Thank you all so much for coming here, I really had no idea at all. I could not ask for anything else right now, I got some really great people here with me, so again, thank you!' I said walking up to each and everybody giving them a hug, which wasn't exactly something I did too often either.

'I can't believe you're all here.' I said group hugging Sophie, Cassidy and Joanna.

'We did say we were gonna visit you in Dublin and when we got the chance to surprise you we couldn't say no. Especially since we know you don't like surprises.' Sophie teased.

'Aww so kind. But seriously, thank you for coming. I've missed you, as you've probably seen on the snaps and messages!' The girls laughed at that. I had missed having them close even though I've been here for a month.

'Yeah we've noticed. But I see you got some new friends here too.' Cassidy said.

'Yeah I did, you need to meet them.'

'Bring them over then.' Joanna said.

'Sus, bring Jules and the others over and meet my friends here.' I said to Susana. The girls came over and all were introduced to each other. We stood talking for a while. My family stood talking to Danny's family and as usual Glen, Mark and Danny stood talking to each other. It really looked like everyone had a great time so far. I never thought I'd say this, but I was also happy to see my parents again. I think that the time away made me realize that I did care for them and that I did want them in my life, I just needed some time off and some distance.
