Lauren's POV
'You need to get dressed now, we're leaving for church in 10 minutes.' My mom yelled at me as I came down the stairs into the living room.
'Well thanks for telling me this sooner.' I sighed back at her. She rolled her eyes and shook her head, probably thinking I should have known this.
'But Lauren, we do this almost each year you should have known that!' My mom said frustrated. As I predicted she expected me to know this. Well we did go to church most years, but letting me know we were all going this year as well wouldn't hurt.
'Almost isn't enough you know?'
'No time to be like this Lauren. We are late!' Mom yelled back. She had a point, but it's still her fault. Can't deny that right?
'Fine I'll get ready.' I said rushing up the stairs. It was only a few minutes until we had to leave home so I had no time to shower this morning so I just pulled on a black dress I could wear tonight as well and brushed through my hair before applying some mascara and foundation before running downstairs ready to go. We all drove off and arrived at the church. We got in and sat down before it started. The priest talked a bit and we sang some parts too. About an hour and a half later we were on our way home again. We were opening our presents after dinner and dessert tonight which meant I had some hours to relax and have a shower as well. I went up to my room and checked my phone. I had 3 new messages already. One from Andi, one from Susana and one from Glen. I knew Danny was probably aching to send a text or something but I had yelled a lot the last time telling him to leave me alone so he would probably stay away, which was probably for the best right now. Well some of my friends know about the fact that we have issues, but my family doesn't. As far as they know we're together and happy, if they only knew the truth. They would probably get mad and tell me how all of this was a mistake. Well it had been about a week or something now and I still haven't said anything. Surprisingly it doesn't seem like Dany have told his family about the recent events either. At least Ailish hasn't called about it and neither had Andi. Somehow I found that strange as he always told them everything, and somehow not cause I know he keeps things like this quiet until it's 100% sorted. I replied to the texts telling them all merry Christmas before I put my phone away and went into the bathroom. I filled the bathtub with hot water and went into the warm water.
After an hour in the bathtub I quickly drained the water and stepped into the shower. I washed my body and my hair and got out quickly. My family had probably already showered while I was asleep this morning so I didn't have to think about the warm water. I got dressed and laid down in my bed again. My sisters would probably arrive with their kids and boyfriends soon so I tried to get as much rest as possible before hell breaks loose here. I really, really, hated gatherings like these where all the children got together with their families. Tonight there would be me, grandma, my parents, my 3 sisters, one of them had their boyfriend too plus their children, in total 5. We would be 13 people here tonight, and I figured it would be a really long night as the living room was overflowing with presents. We would probably be done with the presents at about 1am or something.
'Lauren, Camilla is here with the family!' My dad shouted from downstairs. God they were an hour early. Well at least it was the sister I actually could stand being around. The other one would probably arrive late, like she always did. Her kids were like three little devils, the later they are the better.
'Hey. Merry Christmas!' I beamed as I pulled my sister in for a hug.
'Nice to see you again Laurs, been a while.' She said as we both pulled away.
