*Kathryn's POV *

"I'm home!" I heard him yell, as the door slammed.

He ran up to me and hugged me, then asking if Jessica had come home yet.
I shook my head as he sighed.

"I'm not sure what I should do, Kathryn." He began.
"What do you mean?"

"About this whole thing with Jessica, I don't think I did anything wrong. I'm allowed to have friends aren't I?" He questioned.
"Yeah- yeah. I'm on your side on this." I assured him.

"Okay, good."

He then stared me for a little while before saying,
"You know, I missed you."
My cheeks began to burn as I replied,
"I- I missed you too."

He stepped forward, wrapping his arms around me once again in another hug.

"Your heart is beating really fast." He commented, laying his head on my shoulder.
"Yeah... It- it does that.." I answered.

I was standing still with my arms loosely around Louis' back, absolutely petrified.

None of our hugs have ever lasted this long - was he doing it on purpose?

He finally pulled away, but he still held onto my shoulders, keeping the distance between us very minimal.

I stared into his eyes, our noses almost touching, as I saw him smirk slightly.

"You know, Kathryn, you're really pretty." He said, releasing me. He walked to the kitchen after that, and I was at a loss for words.

I knew I must've been blushing like mad, so I remained in the living room so he wouldn't see.
I watched him stand on his tippy toes to grab two mugs and teabags from the cupboard.
His hair was wonderfully messy, and he was wearing a gray sweater that was too big for him. It made him look much smaller than he actually was.
'How cute.' I couldn't help but think.
I blushed again due to my stupid thoughts and he gave me a strange look.
"Weirdo..." I heard him mumble as he filled the kettle with water.
"Shut up." I replied, and he laughed at me.

"Have you had dinner yet?" He asked me.
"No, you don't have much food left and I didn't want to use the rest of it."

"Yeah, we need to go grocery shopping. I've been putting it off for weeks." He told me, "Do you want me to get you something?"
"No it's fine, it's too late to eat anyway."
"Nonsense! It's never too late to eat. Let's go."
"You just turned the kettle on, it's fine I'll just have tea." I assured him.
I felt myself being lifted, and sure enough I was slung behind on Louis' back. He was carrying me by the ankles; I was terrified of his loose grip, but he successfully carried me to his car.
"I want to get you out of the house, okay? You've only had one outing in the past week, so where do you want to go?"
"I don't care, just take me anywhere."

"In that case - we're going to Tesco."

"When are you gonna talk to Jessica?" I asked Louis.
"I don't know, I'm not ready to yet. I want space too. And I'm kinda excited to get to hang out with you without having to worry about her, to be honest."
"Why?" I couldn't help asking.
"I don't know, I like hanging out with you." He said, "Don't you like hanging out with me too?"
"Yeah. You're fun to hang out with, you make me laugh a lot, and you smile a lot too and I love your smile."
'Dammit Kathryn don't say that.'

"I like your smile too." He grinned at my words in relief, instead of being weirded out.

"Shit-"
Louis' swerved the car, and we both heard loud honking.

I laughed at his bad driving and he replied with, "Stop trying to distract me!", which made me laugh even harder.

*Louis' POV*

"Yeah. You're fun to hang out with, you make me laugh a lot, and you smile a lot too and I love your smile." My heart leaped at her words and I couldn't help but grin like an idiot.

"I like your smile too." I told her.
I looked to her and saw a small smile appear on her lips.

"Shit-" I mumbled.
I had missed our turn and therefore made a U-turn, which made a lot of people mad.

The car was suddenly filled with laughter as I felt my cheeks flush.
I did love hearing her lovely laugh, though not at myself.
"Stop distracting me!" I tried, but that just made her laugh harder.

I almost got distracted again just looking at how beautiful she looked when she was happy, even though it was barely visible in the moonlight.

Once we arrived at Tesco, I tried to quickly buy all the things I believed we needed.
Kathryn went to the McDonald's inside the building and ate her dinner, and she met me at the checkout.

As I was loading stuff onto the counter, she was simply looking in the distance.

"Uh... Louis?" She asked me.
"What."
I looked at her as she looked into the distance still.
There was a long time before she finally dismissed whatever it was she was going to tell me.

.
.

The music blared loudly as the two of us danced together, laughing like idiots. I held loosely onto her hands and spun her around to the song on the radio. We were both laughing hysterically at our terrible attempts at dancing, but we were still having fun.
She yelped as her feet tripped over mine, causing her to fall on top of me.

"Sorry." she giggled. I laughed too as I brushed her hair behind her ear. I admired her beautiful face as she stared back at me.
I could feel her heart racing as she rolled off of me and onto the floor next to me.
"You're the greatest." I said suddenly.
"Uh... Um- thanks..?"

I rolled to my side, trying to look at her once again, but she wouldn't turn towards me.
In response I went on top of her, in a push up position.
Her face turned pink in effect as she asked me what was wrong.
I could feel her heart racing once again, but this time mine matched hers.
I found myself staring at her lips, longing to kiss them again.
My breathing hitched as soon as I realized this, and I immediately got off of her.
I could feel my cheeks flush, my heart thumping, and I had a warm tingling in my stomach. I quickly ran to my room in embarrassment, not wanting to explain myself. I didn't know what was going on.

There was no way I had fallen for Kathryn.
