Jack was sitting in the corner of a tavern, one of his usual haunts in Tortuga, with his feet on the table and a bottle in hand.

"Jack Sparrow?" asked a woman.

"Captain Jack Sparrow," he corrected. "What is it?"

"This is for you. Came weeks ago," the woman said, setting a box beside his feet.

He nodded his thanks, then checked the label on the box, recognising the handwriting instantly.

The label read "Found these in the River Thames. You're an idiot, Jackie. Hope you're in reasonable health. Love, Captain Edward Teague."

Jack opened the box to find a long tweed coat and smiled before shrugging it on, feeling the familiar weight settle on his shoulders.

He looked in again, pulled out something else and his smile widened tenfold.

It was his beloved battered tricorn hat.

He placed it on his head, where it belonged, smiled again and raised his rum bottle in a toast.

"Thanks Dad," he whispered.

A/N Sorry it's so short.
