I agreed -albeit a bit reluctantly- to go to his house. After locking the cafe, he turned towards me.

"Let's walk from here. My apartment is not that far away. Yeah?"

I looked up at him. "I... I still don't think it's a good idea. I mean you're practically a stranger. My father has always warned me about stranger danger. Not that I think that you're a psychopath or something. It's just... Don't be offended please."

"You don't have to go if you're not comfortable. I am not offended at all. I get what you mean. I mean I wouldn't want my daughter to go to a stranger's house either."

My eyes widened. "You have a daughter?"

"No. I meant in a hypothetical way." He chuckled.

"Oh." Heat crept up my neck.

"Do you want me to drop you off at your home?"

I shook my head. "No. I'll. . . I'll go to your apartment. Just don't be a creep or something."

He chuckled, shaking his head. "I can promise you I'm not a creep. Besides, here," he dug his coat for something and brought out a chain and a taser, and handed them to me. "Keep this. This is my mother's."

Something in his voice made me understand what he meant.

"I won't take it back until I make sure you're home safe tomorrow morning. It's not something I'd want to lose."

"Okay. What about the taser?" I wiggled my eyebrows.

A smile made its way to his lips. "For protection. I walk to my apartment alone at this time. I wouldn't want to be mugged or something. I just like to be safe. And now you can keep it to feel safe."

We started walking again. My laptop was in its bag which hung on my left shoulder. As we were walking, our hands slightly rubbed against each other. I felt the static going through my hand into my arm.

He jerked his hand away, putting some distance between us.

We had been walking for five minutes now and I was already tired.

I huffed out a breath.

"Look at you. You are already tired."

I glared at him. He smiled cheekily in return.

"Don't worry we're almost there."

The cold wind kissed my face. It calmed me down. I had almost forgotten about the fights at my home. Jimin's presence had a strange calming effect on me. I felt peaceful and safe with him.

"Here we are."

I looked up.

Holy cow.
