Chapter 7 ~ Welcome to the World

Elijah darts to Rana and grabs her arm. "Rana, it's Hayley. The baby is coming. We need your help please..." He says, and grabs some wet cold towels and some water.

"Well, I kind of figured that part out myself. Don't worry, I'll help." She says and grabs some herbs before walking into the guest bedroom. At the sight of Klaus she scowls, but stands beside Rebekah.

"Rebekah, I need to see her. Go and comfort her." She says, before standing at the end of the bed and putting her hands on the bed. "Okay Hayley, your doing great... Take some deep breaths and try to relax."

"Easier said then done!" Hayley spits out and looks over at Klaus and Elijah before crying out in pain as the contractions slam her one after another. "Klaus... Elijah..." She murmurs and cries out as the baby is pushing to get out.

Elijah is beside her in a flash, and gently takes her hand and rubs it re-reassuringly. Klaus stands on her opposite side, and takes her other hand.

"C'mon little wolf, you're going to be okay." He murmurs and smiles softly.

Rana takes out a needle and walks over to her arm and tugs it away from Elijah.

He grabs her hand looking at her with hard eyes. "It's just pain medicine. I want this maybe to be born as much as you do." Raina responds and pulls away from him, before putting the needle into Hayley's arm and injecting her with the cool fluid.

She tosses the needle aside and returns to her post . "Okay Hayley, the baby is on it's way. Close your eyes and breathe. Now, push!" She says encouragingly, and spreads her legs a bit more. 

Hayley cries out, and squeezes both of her companions hands hard, and pushes with everything she has. Sweat breaks out on her face and neck and she starts to smile before breathing and pushing again. 

After a few minutes of hard pushing, Rana smiles widely. "Keep pushing Hayley, your doing great okay?" Hayley, nods and squeezes her eyes shut and pushes as hard as she can.

She squeezes her companions hands as hard as she can, and pushes down. The contractions washing over her and the sharp pains shooting through her stomach. "Oh god!!" She screams out, and Rebekah looks down at the creature emerging out of Hayley. Klaus and Elijah wince at her strength but don't cringe away.

"I see a head Hayley! You're doing great, just.... Breathe!" Rebekah says out loud through clenched teeth, but Rana nudges her aside. "Okay Hayley, here we go..."

10 minutes later

Rana smiles and  wraps the child up in a white blanket, and stares down at the shining blue eyes. The baby screams and cries for a few seconds, before quieting down. She cleans the baby off while smiling. Elijah and Klaus had left because to guard the house from the witches — or so they had said. Rebekah is still holding Hayley's hand, tears trickling down her face. 

Hayley cranes her neck trying to see her baby. "What is it?" She breathes softly, and Rana smiles as a tear trickles down her cheek which she quickly wipes away.

"It's... It's a girl. Congratulations Hayley - you've given birth to a beautiful daughter." She says and carefully hands her to the mother. Raina and Rebekah exchange a look before carefully leaving to allow Hayley some time alone with her daughter.

Hayley starts to cry and strokes her daughters face, smiling softly. Something in her changes - something clicks. She is holding her daughter. The child she fought to protect, and loves more then anything in the world. Words can not explain the feelings hitting her. "Hey there, baby girl. I'm your mum.. And I'm going to love you forever." She stares down at the baby's wide blue eyes.

"I also want to promise you something. I want to promise you that no matter what I will always be here for you, and protect you from anyone anything that tries to harm you. There is no force in existence that will ever stop me from protecting you. I promise you that I will love you, care for you, and be there for you until my last breath. I love you, my beautiful daughter."

Rebekah takes a moment in the hallway to get herself together, while Rana went to get cleaned up. Her niece was just born - her family.. They had a family now. Just like they always wanted. Just like she always wanted. She takes a deep breath, and walks through the house until she finds her brothers. Both of them are anxiously awaiting the news; Klaus jumps up instantly, and Elijah looks expectantly at his sister.

"Nik, you can see them now if you want to. The baby is beautiful. Hayley requested both of you." She explains, and hugs her brother tightly something she rarely does. "Congrats Nik. You're a father to a beautiful baby girl." She says softly, before releasing him and hugging her other brother.

Klaus takes a deep breath and walks into the Guest Room. He stares at Hayley's sweaty body and his eyes drop from her face to the small creature in her arms that is curled up to Hayley's chest. His face softens, and his blue eyes met tat the sight of her, and he takes two steps and is beside them.

"Hello there, love." He murmurs softly, but not to anyone in particular. His mouth opens slightly, and he stares down at the familiar blue eyes of his own and his sisters. His heart melts, and he reaches out and touches the back child's head almost like he is scared of her. "What's should we name her?" He asks Hayley.

Hayley looks up at her daughter's father, and smiles softly. "Well, I figured since it's both of ours we should name her together. I was thinking maybe Eve for the middle name." She says softly and holds the baby closer to her body. Suddenly feeling very protective of her.

Klaus nods. "Maybe.... Erika?" He asks looking to Hayley to confirm it. 

The mother half smiles and looks down at the baby and up at Klaus. She then shakes her head. "No..." She starts chuckling and Klaus joins in. 

"Okay, okay... Uhm..." His voice tails of as he looks at his daughter.

"Adriana." They both state at the same time. There eyes meet and they exchange a smile. "Adriana Eve Mikaelson." Klaus says fluently, and stares down at the child.

"Don't you mean Marshall-Mikaelson?" She asks and chuckles at his expression.

 "Of course..." He says softly and bites his lip slightly as Hayley laughs at his comment.

"Hey, Klaus, do you want to hold her? I mean, if you want to... She is your daughter after all." She says softly and Klaus's eyes widen softly. 

My daughter... He thinks to himself, before nodding. "Sure. I'd love to. Wait, you sure?" He asks, a bit of fear in his normally brave and strong voice and eyes.

"Klaus, it's alright. Your not going to hurt her, she's a fighter, just like her mum and dad." Hayley says, and carefully hands her to Klaus.

His strong and sturdy arms instantly make an awkward cradle, and he stares down at the creature below him. This is the child his brother swore to protect. The child he was protecting. The child who sired a Hybrid while she was still in the womb. The child who healed Hayley. The child who he killed for. This creature.. His baby. His daughter. Adriana Eve Mikaelson.
