"Look, there he is," Arya called out, gesturing up behind you on one of the walkways that ran around the cold stone courtyard. "Y/N, look," she hissed at you when you didn't move at first.

"He sounds dangerous Arya. You should stay away from him," you mumbled, still not looking up from your hands as they worked at some of Tywin Lannister's washing, running your sore hands through the washing.

"He wants to help me," She spat, her hands coming to rest on her hips as she looked down at you. You finally lifted your head to look up at her, cocking an eyebrow in her direction.

"Men do not help little girls without wanting something in return Arya. Stay away from him," you told her, your voice level and stern as you held her gaze.

"He doesn't want anything from me," she answered, her eyes drifting from yours. When you were younger you had always had staring competitions with your siblings, and other than when Robb cheated you had always won. This time was no exception.

"Will you just listen to me for once?" you asked, letting out a huff of breath as you tried to straighten your back, letting out a loud crunch as you moved for the first time in what felt like hours. Pretending to be someone you weren't was ageing you terribly, and you weren't used to the manual labour you had been doing as of recent.

"You're not my mother," Arya spat back at you and you glared, grabbing her by the collar of her top and pulling her close to you so that you could whisper in her ear.

"Right now I am the closest thing you have to Mother, so for once in your life, do as you are told and stop being such a little brat," you growled low in her ear before releasing her from your grip, hunching back down over your wash basin. "Now go, Lord Tywin will notice your absence," you told her, refusing to lift your eyes to her watery ones.

You continued to work until Arya's feet disappeared from your view and then buried your face in your hands. You hated having to be so cruel with the girl but she was always just so pig-headed, refusing to listen to those around her; refusing to listen to those with experience of the real world. This Jaqen H'ghar was probably a dangerous criminal if he had been travelling to the wall to join the Night's Watch.

You quickly wiped at your tears when you heard a voice come from behind you. "A girl doesn't want help," he muttered, causing you to look up in shock. "Your sister seems much more eager to accept it though," he added, moving to sit across from you.

"My sister is also completely clueless when it comes to the real world, she's stuck in a fantasy," you paused for a moment, fixing your stare on the man's face. "She needs to grow up," you added and he nodded lightly at you.

"And you grew up?" he pushed gently, his eyes still holding yours as you tried not to look away from him; you couldn't lose to him, of all people.

"I didn't have a choice," you murmured, and the two of you fell silent, still staring at one another until you tore your eyes away. "I have work to do, if you'll excuse me," you huffed, before plunging your hands into the scolding water in front of you.

"You are excused," he spoke up and you let out a surprised chuckle, looking back up.

"You know what I meant," you told him, an eyebrow raised, asking him to deny your claim.

"I will leave you to your work," he finished, finally standing and making his way back to his post on the walls overlooking your own work place.

Maybe he wasn't as bad as you had assumed. He could be a totally normal man, just looking out for two young girls and helping them to get to safety. Usually you would scoff at your own thought; no one did anything in Westeros without wanting something in return, but he seemed different to you. You would have to speak with Arya about him later.
