Demi's POV

I followed the doctor into the hallway. A million thoughts were going through my head in the couple seconds it took to walk out of Anna's room. The doctor turned to face me. I tried to read the expression she had on her face. "Okay so we have some good news for you!" I let out a relieved sigh. "Anna is cancer free!" I was shocked.

"What about the seizure? What caused it?" I asked confused.

"The tumor shrunk so quickly that the pressure change in her brain caused a seizure. She shouldn't have any more seizures now. She will be able to go home today. On Monday she will have her last round of chemotherapy and then we will put her on a low dose of oral chemo to keep the cancer from coming back," I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This is amazing! I get to take Anna home today! I can't wait!

I went back into the room and I had a huge smile on my face. Natalie looked at me confused and I told her to come out to the hallway so Anna wouldn't hear me tell her. Anna was asleep, but I didn't want to take any risks of her hearing. I was going to surprise her when she woke up. After I told Natalie we went back into the room. Natalie went to get us some food because it was dinner time. After a while Anna woke up. "Demi, it hurts," she whined. The morphine had worn off.

"Let me see if we can get you some more morphine," I said. I didn't want her to be in pain, but I didn't really want her to have more morphine and have her be loopy when I tell her the news.

"No!" she said quickly. I was getting ready to press the call button on her bed to get a nurse. "no more morphine! That stuff made me feel really weird," she said which made me laugh remembering how she acted on it. "What?" she said and I realized I was cracking up.

"Do you remember what happened when you woke up last time?" I asked catching my breath.

"Um no?" she said obviously confused. I got out my phone and showed her the video. Her face turned red, but she was smiling. "Oh my God. I'm so sorry!" she said and we laughed together. "You better not post that anywhere!" she said.

"Don't worry! I'm not going to," I said. She fidgeted and winced. It was obvious she was still in a lot of pain. I called the nurse to see if we could get any other pain medicine for her. A couple minutes later the nurse came in with some pills. They were Tylonal with Codine. The nurse explained that they would make her drowsy, but they wouldn't make her loopy like the morphine. Anna swallowed the pills and I got some food for her to eat while we waited for the medicine to kick in. She had some trouble eating it, but she ended up eating most of it. Her body was so tiny and frail. The chemo had some really ill effects on her. Thankfully the oral chemo didn't have all the side effects. "How are you feeling?" I asked her when she was finished eating.

"Fine," she said.

"Is the pain better?" I asked. She nodded. "Good because I have a surprise for you and I wanted to feel good when I told you about it," I said smiling. She looked at me confused. "Go get ready for me," I said. She looked confused, but she did as I said. I realized she was really weak so I helped her get up and walk to the bathroom. She changed and then opened the door. She put her wig on and then put on makeup. I helped her get back to the bed.

"Woah, when did she get here?" Anna asked pointing at Natalie.

"She's been here for a couple hours now," I said and Anna just looked at me. I could tell she was kind of mad because someone else saw her without her wig and makeup and everything on. I got my phone out and started filming. I had to get this moment on film.

"What are you doing Demi? Why are you filming me?" she said trying to cover up the camera lens. I pushed her hands down away from the camera.

"Anna, you beat cancer! You're cancer free!" I said enthusiastically. Anna froze for a minute letting the information process and then she hugged me almost knocking me over. I flipped the camera around on my phone to film her reaction. She was crying happy tears into me. Natalie came and took the camera to film for me so I could hug Anna back. I hugged her back and then pulled her away from me so she looked right into my eyes. We both had huge smiles on our faces. "You're coming home right now!" I said to her. She collapsed into my arms again.

"Thank you Demi!" she said.

"Awh," I said looking into the camera and then back at her. I noticed Natalie was tearing up. Anna turned to face the camera.

"I beat cancers butt!" she said making me laugh and then Natalie stopped filming. I uploaded it to Keek instantly getting hundreds of comments. I realized I hadn't gone public about fostering Anna. Oh well, I'll deal with that later. I packed up all of mine and Anna's stuff and Natalie took it out to her car. I didn't have my car here since I rode in the ambulance with Anna. The nurse came in and took Anna's IV out and unattached all of the cords from her. She gave me papers to sign and a prescription for Tylenol with Codine and told me the pain should go away in a couple days. She told me to let Anna rest and not to get the area from the bone marrow wet for 24 hours. Once everything was signed the nurse gave me a wheel chair to push Anna out to the car in. Anna wasn't too happy about riding in the wheelchair. Once we got to the car I helped Anna into the backseat and got into the back with her. My apartment was about 30 minutes from the hospital. We picked up Anna's prescription from the drug store right next to the hospital. Anna had her head leaned up against the window falling asleep. Natalie hit a pot hole causing Anna to hit her head. It wasn't very hard, but it woke her up. I pulled Anna down so she was laying her head on my lap. She tensed up so I started rubbing her arm. She relaxed and then fell asleep.

A/N

Did anyone expect that? Another happy chapter! Let me know if you like the happy chapters or drama better. Eventually I'm going to bring in a love interest for Demi. I'm not sure who it should be though. I was thinking either Nick or Wilmer. I don't know. Let me know what you think:)
