Chapter 32: Sakura vs Nia

Nia walked behind the others as they sauntered through the forest back to the Hidden Leaf. They could've taken a boat but there was not enough room for everyone and was too expensive. Currently, she watched as Naruto talked to Sakura.

They were laughing and chattering but she didn't care. All she cared about was what she saw out of Sakura back at her village when she saved Naruto and her from being assaulted.

'That punch of hers was surrounded with chakra...' she thought as she now studied the kunoichi's hand, 'How was she able to do that with her hands? I can only get it to surround my feet.'

"So Sakura, when we get back to the village, can we go on our date?" Naruto once more attempted to get Sakura to go on a date with him.

"No for the last time." The girl replied then sighed.

"Aw, c'mon! You went with Bushy Brows!"

"Well he payed for the date."

Naruto sighed at knowing that he had no cash on him, "Oh fine, whatever... maybe next time."

He then looked behind him. Nia was still staring at Sakura's hand. Naruto raised an eyebrow.

What's up with Curly Brow? Why is she staring at Sakura like that?

Awkwardly, Nia noticed Naruto's gaze on her and looked his way. The two blankly looked at one another a bit too long and they both ended up looking away with an attitude.

'Geez, what was he/she staring at me for...?' They both thought as they still kept their anger at one another to themselves.

Earlier, they had gotten into it about where everyone would eat to celebrate Nia's graduation to chuunin. Naruto wanted to go to Ichiraku while Nia wanted to go to a restaurant with "real food". In the end, since they couldn't make a decision, it was decided that there would be dinner at the barbecue place team 10 would usually eat at.

Even though that conclusion had been final, Nia and Naruto were still irritated at one another.

Naruto slowed down so that he was walking side-by-side to the slightly older girl.

"By the way, I would like my headband back if you don't mind." He said in a rude manner.

Nia untied the genin's headband from her forehead and handed it over to him, "Here! I don't need to be wearing a genin's headband anyway! I'm way above that."

"Whatchu say?!!!" Naruto became offended as he tied his head protector around his head again.

"You heard me!" Nia crossed her arms.

"Without this, you wouldn't have even became a chuunin, ya know!"

"Well, without my help, you would've been a skeleton after that lady with the petal jutsu kidnapped you!"

"Without my help, you would've never been able to escape that cave in the first place!" Naruto retaliated, "You're welcome by the way."

"What?!" Nia responded, "I didn't need your help!"

"Yeah you did, admit it!" Naruto yelled. He then made a girly pose and  said, "You were all like: Naruto, save me! I can't move. I need you to help me cause you're so strong and brave and amazing!"

Nia blushed madly and stopped, "I never said anything like that!"

"Yeah you did!" Naruto returned to normal and stopped his pace as well.

"No I didn't!"

"Yeah you did!"

"No I didn't!"
