Kelli's POV:

Since I no longer have to go back to the studio for work, I have the whole weekend to do anything I want. I decided to spend the morning to do some jogging with my best friend, Caroline. It's been a while since we've spent time together.

I put on a white sports bra and a sky blue tank top over it. I put on a pair of black three-quater length leggings and lastly, my light blue nike roshe. I brushed my hair and tied it up into a ponytail. I grabbed my phone and made my way downstairs for a light breakfast.

As I reached the last few steps, I smelt something delicious.

"Mmmm," I let the delightful scent of eggs fill my nostrils.

"Morning, sweetheart." I looked up and noticed my mom was in the kitchen, switching off the stove and putting the eggs she had been cooking onto a plate, which also had two pieces of bacon.

I walked towards her and gave her a kiss on her cheek.

"Morning to you too!" I said happily. My mom passed me that plate of goodness and I smiled, before making my way to the dining table.

"You seem to be in a cheerful mood today," My mom said curiously, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm going jogging with Caroline later. I haven't seen her in a while so that's probably why I'm excited," I smiled.

"Well, I'm glad that you're happy. It's nice to see my beautiful daughter finally smiling," My mom said happily as she stroked my hair.

I'm really glad my mom understands what I'm going through. I'm grateful to have someone as wonderful as her for a mom.

Once I was done, I picked up my plate and washed it, before putting it back on the rack. I drank a glass of water before heading out.

"I wonder where is she.." I mumbled to myself. It's been ten minutes since our suggested meeting time. I decided to start doing some warm ups and jogging a few metres without her.

I breathed in the fresh, morning air and took in the wonderful scenery of the park. The flowers were blooming, signs showing that spring has come. I noticed butterflies were fluttering around them and so were a few bees. I hear birds chirping amongst the trees, singing in harmony.

"Hey! You weren't planning on jogging alone were you?" I heard a voice from behind me, that stopped me daydreaming. I turned to see not Caroline, but Damon. He had on him a white jersey. You could literally his body right through them. It fitted him almost perfectly. He also had a pair of black jogging shorts and black running shoes.

He looked good.

"Oh, hey! You jog here?" I asked.

"When I'm in the mood," he saod and shrugged. "I usually go to the gym, but I thought, maybe a little fresh air won't hurt."

"I see. Well, if you still wanted to know the answer to your previous question.. I'm actually with a friend, but apparently, she's not here yet, so I decided to get a head start." We slowed down and began walking, to make our conversation a little easier.

"Well, let's just hope she's okay," he said reassuringly and I nodded. We stayed quiet for a while. He seemed to have something on his mind. Should I ask him about it?

"Urm, Kelli?" he spoke.

Oh. Nevermind.

"Yeah?"

"I wanted to ask you-" he paused. He rubbed the back of his neck before continuing.

"I know, you're going through a rough time now.. So.. I was thinking.. maybe we could, you know.. hang out or something. You know, to get your mind off things."

Is he asking me out?

"Oh and we don't have to go out as fake couples or anything like that. We can just go as friends," he explained further.

"Oh. Well in that case, of course. I could use a little break from all this dating for a while," I admitted.

"There you are!" a tall blonde girl jumped infront of me.

"Oh my gosh, Carol! You scared me!" I exclaimed, putting hand over my chest.

"Sorry! Oh, and I'm sorry I'm late too! I kinda sorta overslept.." Caroline began to apologize.

"Nah, it's okay. Luckily I had Damon here to company me," I said and smiled, gesturing towards Damon.

"Oh, I'm sorry! Intro- Damon, this is Caroline, my good friend. Caroline, this is Damon. He's.. Er.. He's er.. Well it's a long story," I couldn't help but laugh awkwardly.

"Let's just we're just friends at the moment," Damon said simply.

"It's nice to meet you!" Caroline said cheerfully. She had a huge grin on her face.

"Sorry, Kelli.. but, I have to go. I've got something on after this. I'll call you?" Damon said as he looked at his watch and groaned in disappointment.

"Alright. I'll see you soon," I smiled before he made his way to wherever he needed to be.

As soon as he was out of sight, I sighed and turned to face my friend, who seemed to be pretty excited.

"Are you okay?" I asked curiously.

"Oh. Nothing.. It's just that.. Your friend Damon there? He is H. O. T. Hot!" she exclaimed and began waving her hands around, fangirling.

I wasn't able to jog in peace. Caroline kept pestering me the whole journey, asking me about my relationship with Damon. No matter how many times I told her that I would tell her later, she insisted me on telling her on the spot. I ended up sprinting away from her, just for me to get my peace and quiet.

Soon, we got tired and we made our way to the ice-cream parlour nearby.

"Okay, I've waited till we've finished with jogging. Now that we're taking a break, would you pleeeaaseee tell me," Caroline begged, giving me her best puppy-dog face.

"Alright, alright. Boy are you persistent," I finally agreed.

"It's one of my strengths," Caroline couldn't help but brag. "Now tell me!"

"Okay, okay. No need to get your pants all tight," I said sarcastically.

"Alright, I'm sure you know the thing that's been going on with my relationship with Billy," I cringed when I mentioned his name. Not the cringe when you see something gross but the cringe when you suddenly feel a wave of painful memories flodding through your mind.

She nodded slowly. "So, what both our agents arranged is that we both have a relationship with someone else, so the public would stop criticizing us. That's when Damon came along. He is, well..  my so called boyfriend," I explained.

"So, is it a bad thing? I mean.. you being in a fake relationship and everything?" Caroline asked curiously.

"I don't know, exactly. I mean..  It's great that the public is finally leaving us alone, but-" I paused. "Ugh, it's complicated." Of groaned, burying my face into my hands.

"Oh, Kelli.. I'm sorry that you have to go through this. Hey, maybe it's for the best.

"What do you mean?" I asked, looking up to her.

"Look, maybe this isn't something you want to hear.. But.. Maybe It's for the best for you to get over that, Billy guy. From what you're telling me it seems like your relationship with him isn't going anywhere," Caroline explained.

"Besides, Damon seems like a nice guy. You should give him a chance too. People come and go, Kelli.. You have to know when it's time for you to let them go.."

"I really don't know if I want to say this, but.. You're right. Maybe it is time for me to let him go," I muttered.

The question that's on my mind now is:

Am I ready to let him go?
