DEUTERONOMY CHAPTER 9
Memory Verse
“Do not think in your heart, after the Lord your God has cast them out before you, saying, ‘Because of my righteousness the Lord has brought me in to possess this land’; but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out from before you.
Deuteronomy 9:4 NKJV
God's Word
Righteous
: morally good
: following religious or moral laws
God will surely bring us to the land of His promises. But never ever think that it is because we are righteous before Him, but rather because of His Righteousness.
We sometimes make mistakes, but before God, we are not a wicked being if we repent and continually believe on Him. If we noticed, the people of Israel are stiff-necked people. Many times they disobey the Lord, but because of God's Righteousness their children will continue to go to the Promised Land.
And for those who are wicked, people that don't believe the Lord. Christians may surely possess their inheritance. Spiritually meaning, those unbelievers who didn't believe in our Lord Jesus Christ will be shifted by us from the wealth that they have. We shall be promoted, increase our salary or maybe we shall be the next in the position that God prepared for us.
But again, it is not because of our righteousness, but of God, and also by the continuous wickedness of those people who didn't want to believe.
God's Character
He is Righteous
God's Promises
He will help me to become righteous and He will bring me to my inheritance
Life Application
I will always not look myself as a righteous being but as a son of God whom the Lord loves
