Chapter 38

 The pack house is quiet as we all sit in the huge war room. Benjamin and Kaidan sit next to me staring at Adam and Hanna. Max and Roan sit opposite of me.

"So he just took Margo with him?" Adam says. Hanna gives him a look and he shrugs his shoulders.

"Sounds like he is still in love with her." Adam continues to talk. I slam my fist into the table making him jump.

"I don't want to hear about either of them at this moment. I have more pressing matters to attend to. I have hunters up my ass and in my back yard. I am not going to listen to you drag my mate through the mud. Adam if you want to continue this you can go outside and wait until this meeting is over." I growl. Adam sits back in his chair. The door opens and Sam enters he bows and takes the vacant seat beside me next to Kaidan.

"Skye we have found Brent. He is holed up about a mile from where Margo had you and Ava held." He growls out the last part. I get up and follow Sam out of the room not leaving anyone else to input anything. I grab the keys to my hummer off of the desk as we exit the room.

"Skye slow down." Kaidan yells after me as we make our way down the stairs. I fly past women and children in the kitchen. Men move out of my way as I make my way to the door. I fling the front door and throw Sam the keys. Kaidan isn't far behind me. I jump into the passenger seat and get the door shut as Sam pulls out of the drive.

"Do you even know what you are going to do when you get there Skye? Or are you going at this half cocked like you did when you were trying to get Emma back for Killian?" He ask. I turn and look at Kaidan and let out a growl.

"Choose your fucking words wisely Kaidan you may be a powerful Alpha but I will fuck you up. I went to get Emma back because she is a pack member and she is a mate." I let out another warning growl.

"Skye you aren't thinking clearly and that can get you killed." Kaidan tries again. Sam's grip tightens on the steering wheel hearing of my death.

"I will be fine. I didn't die when Margo had me and I won't die due to Brent." I say.

"No it's not. Skye we looked for a week to find you. Kyle was going out of his fucking mind. He was getting ready to call the royal guard to come and help in the search. You reached out that day. At first we all thought it was in his head as his way to cope, but we picked up on your scent." Kaidan argues.

"I am more than capable of protecting myself."

"Have you even talked to your mom and dad since you've been back or have you ignored the phone calls. I mean the last time you talked to either of them you were pretty much telling them you were never coming back." Kaidan starts raising his voice.

"I-" I start but stop.

"Exactly you haven't fucking talked to them. Skye you don't think. You are always trying to prove yourself when there is nothing to prove. I love you like a little sister, but this passion you have to prove yourself is eventually going to get you killed. You push so many people out of your life and it can't be helping you." Kaidan looks up as the vehicle comes to a stop.

"We are not done with this." He looks at me as he climbs out of the car. I unbuckle and climb out of the car. I walk to the back of the hummer and open the back. I lift the latch next to the door and push up revealing the arsenal I have. I grab my two Smith and Wesson Revolvers. I tuck them into the waste band of my jean.

"Let's just get this shit done." I say.
