I apologize for the confusion with the chapter. Chapter 8 was deleted some how and Chapter 9 ended up being posted. And so this is basically what happened.
Derek basically explained what the mating bond is (mind-link, read thoughts and feelings, neither of them can go long without seeing each other without feeling pain/being uncomfortable). Chloe excepts Derek as her "soul mate" and she tells him she loves him. Then he carries her to bed and kisses her good night.
