Gray areas and expectations
But I'm not the one if we're honest.

Finn was out.

Pia and Mark had him running around all day, going to different meetings to set up interviews and whatever else he needed done. He just wanted to be home with Millie in all honesty. He had even invited her, but she insisted on staying home for the day.

He was finally on his way back though and he couldn't wait. The sun was already down, the clock just about to hit ten at night.

"Tired?" Mark asked from the front seat.

Finn nodded, "A little."

"Don't worry, you'll be able to see Millie once we get there," Pia said with a small smile.

"We're staying in a room far away from yours, right? I do not need to hear you two all night," Mark teased.

Finn slapped his shoulder, "Whatever, it's not even like that!"

Pia and Mark gave him knowing looks. He rolled his eyes as Mark muttered out "not yet it isn't" and laughed.

The car finally pulled up in front of the house and Finn got out a little too fast, completely falling and landing on his hands and knees. Mark burst into laughter and Finn looked up at him and scowling. Pia helped him up and dusted off his clothes.

"Stop it," Finn swatted her hands away and started to walk towards the house. The lights were out and Finn couldn't help but feel just a little disappointed that Millie was probably asleep.

"Finn, you're way too excited," Mark commented as they walked up to the door.

Finn ignored him and stuck the key in the lock before unlocking the door and opening it up. The lights switched on and Finn's eyes widened as a loud "surprise!" was heard.

A smile stretched across his face as he saw not only Millie but all of her friends and his own. Grace was the first to step up and wrap him in a hug, practically jumping on him.

"I missed you!" She said pulling back and placing a sloppy kiss on his cheek.

Gaten came next and pushed Grace out of the way before hugging Finn.

"What's all this about?" Finn asked.

Millie smiled, "I know you've felt homesick so I called up Grace and we worked this out. Plus, nobody has seen our house yet."

She gestured to the house that was decorated with silver streamers and balloons. Finn nodded and greeted Caleb, Sadie, and Noah.

"You guys really didn't have to do this," he said shaking his head. He turned to Pia and Mark, "Did you know about this?"

They both nodded, "Obviously."

Millie walked to Finn and held up her phone, "And we got it all on video."

Finn blushed as he saw himself enter the house and jump as everyone screamed. Millie put her phone down and he pulled her close.

"Thank you," he said quietly so only she could hear.

"Of course," she replied back.

Grace walked up and held a little envelope out to Finn.

"Millie and I got you this too," she said, "Mostly Millie though."

Finn looked between the two and shook his head, "No, you guys didn't have to get me anything, it's not even my birthday."

"Trust me, if we didn't get you this then you probably wouldn't have done it yourself," Grace said.
