(DAYU)

I waited patiently as Lao contemplated on what he wanted to say to me.

I will admit to being surprised when Lao requested some of my time to have tea with me. And then I realized that since coming back to Qing's life, and in Lao's life, and marrying my Prince, I have never had a one on one moment with Lao again.

Which is a remiss of me. Lao is my friend. One of my closest friends. I trust him implicitly, especially with taking care of Qing and my Prince's professional life. So I think it's on me that I failed to spend quality time with Lao.

That is why I eagerly jumped on this opportunity to have tea with my friend. After that favor Lao did for us, preparing that relaxing weekend for me and Qing, I also want to be there for my friend.

And it's nice. It's just me and Lao, without Qing and Chong. I love my Prince, I love spending time with him. Lao certainly spend his time with Qing. But still it's good that now, it's just me and Lao, being together.

I smiled at my friend, "We should do this more often," I said.

"What?" Lao woke up from his mussings.

"Spend time together. Have tea. Just you and me. Without Qing." I clarified.

Lao smiled and nodded. "Ah yes. You and me..."

"And without Chong," I added.

Lao winced, "Yeah...Chong..."

I frowned at that. "Everything is going well with you and him, right? Did Chong do something on your trip last weekend that's bothering you? That stupid..."

Lao chuckled and shook his head, "Dayu ah, please go easy on Chong. He is trying, you know..."

I sighed, "Yeah. Trying to leave me..." I am still smarting at that. "He said I am boring."

"He never said you are boring," Lao defended Chong. "He said your routine and job is boring. Not you. I think boring is the last descriptive word that Chong will use for you." My friend added kindly. "Personally speaking, I am glad you have a boring routine. Boring and safe..."

"Me too," I nodded in agreement at what Lao said. "Fuck excitement. I love being safe."

Lao and I laughed together.

"I have no doubt," Lao sipped some of his oolong tea. I watched him. "So what is really wrong, Lao?"

Lao look into my eyes, "Dayu ah...how did you do it?" He asked me.

"Do what?" I don't understand what he is asking about.

"Faced Qing's past?" Lao clarified. I frowned at him. Lao sighed before continuing. "You know, Shunu. You stood there and faced her. She was Qing's past lover. They had three years together. But you...you stood there and held firm and managed to faced her with calmness and elegance..."

"Did I?" I don't remember this calmness and elegance Lao is talking about. "I thought I bouldered my way through meeting Shunu that was why she got pissed enough to kidnap me."

Shunu, Qing's ex, is extraordinaire. She took heartache to a different level, that was for sure. With surprise appearances, poisoned painting, kidnapping and a farce wedding.

Shunu...she is something else, sure.

"Where is she again?" I asked Lao.
